Killer: Frell off, Deadshot. Not all of us can have bounties delivered to us for a fat payout. Deadshot: Yeah, yeah, whatever you say. Banger: Cut it off, Killer. We’re all in the same boat now if the new chick is too scared of dying in a shuttle accident. Killer: I warned that Station Slit that breaking the shuttle’s booster module would mess up our chances to take that frelling Bounty Hunter down. Banger: Hey, Deadshot, are you and your crew gonna be around for drinks later tonight?

Deadshot: Looks that way for now. Banger: Fine, we’ll meet up with you guys in the Neon Pussy. Deadshot: The first round is on you. “Damn!” I swore after killing the comm-link as the medium fighters continued toward the secret path’s entrance. “We would’ve surely been blasted onsite if we’d tried this in the Mongoose.” “In that case,” Gimbal said, a condescending look coming to her face.

“I would have suggested that we needed to pass directly through the asteroid belt and not this secret pass.” “Are you kidding me?” I demanded while easing my way through the maze. “The Mongoose would’ve been torn bashed to smithereens within the first minute!” “You misunderstand me,” Gimbal reiterated with an amused look coming to her face. “My suggestion would have been to use your EVA Frame to transit through the asteroid belt while I stayed with the Mongoose.” “Wonderful,” I groused and rolled my eyes.

“There is one of the automatic defensive turrets,” Gimbal curiously pointed out as we entered the last stretch to the asteroid base. “And another one over there.” “Damn, how many of them do they have out there?” I said as we flew past another pair. “More than a small squadron of Raptor G-7 Heavy Fighters would want to face off in these tight corridors,” Gimbal said, not batting an eye.

At my raised eyebrow, she explained what she meant. “Those are the USL Fleet’s uses for their anti-pirate patrols.” “Hmm,” I harrumphed while thoughtfully eyeing the turrets. “How do you think they are programmed to respond if the asteroid base comes under attack?” “That is a good question,” Gimbal admitted as her eyes got that faraway look that meant she was processing multiple simulations.

“I would say the probable chance is approaching unity that all allied ships will not be targeted during such an attack.” “So, we’re going to need to make sure we hide the Bloody Mayhem good and not get caught,” I said, frowning as we passed another pair of turrets. “Otherwise, we’ll be fucked.” “We will be fucked either way if we are discovered too quickly,” Gimbal pointed with a snort of derision.

I will continue delivering great stories on the GameLit Fantasy side =D An update on Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program: Amazon has been reducing the amount of money they give to the authors via the KU program for books read and that reduction is making it hard to make a living being a writer. Patreon support helps to make up the difference. I do my best to offer a lot of extras for the series: Sneak Peeks for the next book, a variety of concept art for the various characters, interesting articles on VR and FIVR gaming technologies, funny memes, and other stuff about the series.

Any support is greatly appreciated and helps makes this series possible. You can find my Patreon page here: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=23281087 *** Thank you for your support. I hope you enjoy the story and apologize in advance for any grammar and proofreading mistakes that are sure to be a part of this work. Being an ‘Indie Author’ typically means that you do not have the extra money to pay for a professional editor or proofreader and end up doing all of the work yourself and with helpful friends.

While I do the best that I can to find mistakes, I know well my lack of ability in the proofreading, spell-checking, and editing arena.
