Nash looked between the two men, trying to understand the conversation. Why would anyone want to kidnap Bonnington’s wife? And why did this shocking news not surprise Bonnington? Nash rubbed his throat and pushed into a standing position. “I fought the two men off, allowing her to make her escape on my horse.” Didn’t they want to hear the circumstances of her rescue?

She was safe and warm because of his action. “Lancelot is your horse?” Her startling blue eyes met his. “Lancelot? No. The black stallion that you purloined is the Ace of Spades.” “Ace. You named that stunning beauty after a card game?” She shook her head, causing her curls to swirl around her shoulders.

“It figures.” Nash took one step toward her, intending to convince her he wasn’t a villain. He would explain that he had rescued Ace, too. Brinsley moved within striking distance like a guard dog ready to attack. “Can you describe the men?” Bonnington addressed Nash now that he wasn’t intent on killing him. “Their appearance? Were they gentlemen?” “No, they were of the lower class. Nothing distinguished about them in the least.

It took little effort to disarm them.” Bonnington rubbed his jaw. “And where did they go after you disarmed them?” Nash shrugged. “I don’t know. And I didn’t care. I went to assist her.” Damn it. This was clumsy not to know her full name, but if he called her Eliza the men would flail him. “When she cantered off in a snowstorm on Ace, I followed her until she fell off.” “I never fall off.” She straightened her spine, causing her nipples to stick out. He didn’t want these men to see her in this dishabille state.

Damn it, no man should see her like this except for him. “You don’t remember. You lost consciousness because of your head injury and the cold. I brought you here and ministered to you until you woke up.” Brinsley stepped close to force Nash to look up. He was well aware of Brinsley’s intimidation techniques. The man was taller than anyone in society. “And how did you minister to her that she now has no clothes on except for your shirt?” “Her clothes were damp from the snow.

All she had in the freezing cold were a man’s shirt, jerkin, and breeches.” “Colin’s?” Bonnington looked to Eliza. “And you rode out alone again?” She nodded, her face flushing a fiery red. “We rode in a blizzard to arrive here with no servants except the stablemaster and his son. You will recall that there are no female staff here. There was no one but me to revive her.” Eliza blushed and stammered.

“You took my clothes off while I was unconscious?”

Miss Eliza Louise Lyon comes face-to-face with deception and danger when she is kidnapped in a case of mistaken identity. Using her skills as a horsewoman, she escapes the villains by stealing a prized horse. But she is unable to outrace the fierce snowstorm or the man in pursuit.

Lord Nathaniel “Nash” Trentham, Earl of Wessex, chases Eliza through the snow as she makes off with his most-favored stallion. Nash must now save her, paying no mind to decorum and conventions. Will Eliza be forced to marry the Earl and give up her passion for horses? Or will they find a compromise? 1kitap1.com/en Copyright Mission: A Code of Wonder Copyright © 2020 by Jacki Delecki A Holiday Code for Love excerpt Copyright © 2018 by Jacki Delecki This is work of fiction.

Peering through the soiled window, he watched the clouds blowing across the sky. A winter storm was brewing. If he didn’t leave immediately, he’d be forced to spend the night.
