She stared dazedly about herself for some time, slowly waking up and getting her bearingS. Her body was still warm and drowsy, her lips a little swollen, eyelids heavy with sleep. Her gaze drifted over to the empty space on the bed beside her, her fingers sliding across to confirm that yes, the sheets were cold. A small frown touched her brow. She was waking up without him too often recently; they would need to have a talk about that.

Reaching up a hand absentmindedly, she ran her fingers through her hair and pushed it from her face. It was then that the wound on her shoulder reared its head, making its presence known. Wincing, she dropped her arm back down. It didn’t appear to be hurting as much as it had yesterday though and she pushed back the sheets also to inspect her leg.

Last night Obsidian had sent golden tendrils of energy into her body, another of the talents he had gained upon fusing with Zarska. He could not heal in the way Circe could, but a transfer of power was a welcome compromise. Circe’s general healing ability was quicker than a human and the leg wound had been shallower than the shoulder.

She peeled back the bandages carefully and inspected the leg underneath. It was definitely better than yesterday. She didn’t have to check her shoulder to know that it would take longer though and so she rose from her bed, wrapping herself in her robe as she ventured into the bathroom. Sourcing fresh bandages, she wound them back around her leg, her shoulder could wait for now and anyway, she was unsure if she could rewrapo it on her own.

What she really wanted was a long soak in the hot pools and although she could already hear Lacy demanding she not get her wounds wet; she placated any guilt she was feeling by making a silent promise to keep her shoulder out of the water. The leg, she felt, had healed enough that she shouldn’t have any problems.

Yes, she decided, a soak was indeed priority.

Picmonkey is awesome and easy to use – fantastic for making book covers 🙂 I will say though, I pay for the premium version, something like $40 for a whole year, which is nothing, and each year it takes it from my bank so I don’t have to do it again. I would definitely recommend premium for people who would use it all the time, it is like an easier version of photo-shop, (only difference is the quality of files, only JPEGs are able to be used.)
