Banned Book 3 A LitRPG Adventure Series – Michael Atamanov

The driver was an old, barefoot Khajiit villager, dressed in rags and wearing a straw hat on his gray head. Out of desperation, he had seemingly decided to take a shortcut to the city of Malachite Emporium straight through the marsh, hoping to sell his simple goods before sunset. The three players blocking the road, dressed in heavy plate armor with the same clan emblem on their triangular shields and enchanted blades, stepped aside and let the cart through with bored expressions. As the old man passed, one of them spoke, addressing someone invisible.
“Another NPC’s coming. No, worthless this time. Just an old Khajiit hauling hay. No loot. Yes, we let him through. We don’t need Criminal tags hanging over us since we’ll be logging off soon. He’s your problem now.” The decrepit Khajiit didn’t so much as blink, but once the cart had moved past the three scouts, he suddenly straightened up and spoke in the youthful voice of Dog of the Forgotten Pack, “So, these are mercenaries from Captain Alatriste’s Group.
Three heavy fighters, no magic support. Bad news—they haven’t fallen out with the other clan. Good news—we slipped by unrecognized, thanks to Miranissa.” Rhea Uri, sitting on the haystack beside Harumi and the rest of the Foxes, hissed for Dog to be careful and quiet. I reassured her. “There’s a silence sphere around us—no one outside hears a word. And with the illusions in place, all they see is a decrepit old man and a cart about to fall apart.”
We got the cart and its lizard from an NPC villager who had actually been planning to venture onto the marsh causeway—straight into certain death, since not one traveler had survived it today. And by “we got” them, I didn’t mean we had stolen them. For seven silver coins and a handful of copper coins, the old man had happily given up his creaking wagon and dying mount, glad to be rid of them.
“Five hundred yards left,” I reminded everyone. “Our task is simple: kill every player at the checkpoint. Leave none alive or the assignment fails. They won’t see it coming and will let us get close. We won’t see them at first—their illusion will conceal them. Breaking it is Miranissa’s job. Once it’s down, Bashkir and I will go after their Illusionist Mage. Taking him out will instantly remove the cloaking spell and make our job easier.

A New Captain About The Author 1kitap1.com/en C h a p t e r 1 1kitap1.com/en Too Close to Death THE HARDEST PART WAS keeping myself from panicking and losing my head —figuratively speaking, for the time being—so that I wouldn’t lose the most important part of my physical self in reality.
My hideout had been exposed. An hour ago, my treacherous neighbor began negotiations, attempting to sell information about my whereabouts to those who wished me harm. While it wasn’t a certainty that she had succeeded, I had to assume the worst: that a deal had likely been struck. My pursuers had previously been searching for me in Moscow, which meant that the majority of them were still there.
