Lemon-Cherry Sipper Kathy Lowe Orem, UT It’s like drinking liquid sunshine! 1-3/4 c. fresh-squeezed lemon juice 1 c. sugar 1 lb. fresh cherries, pitted 3 qts. water Combine lemon juice and sugar in a one-gallon container; shake until sugar is dissolved. Add 3 quarts water and cherries; stir well. Fill glasses with ice and juice. Makes 6 to 8 servings. 1-1/2 c. sugar 1-1/4 c. oil 4 eggs 3 c. all-purpose flour 1 t. baking soda 1 t. cinnamon 1 t. salt 2 10-oz. pkgs. frozen strawberries, thawed and divided Blend sugar and oil together; add eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Combine dry ingredients in a separate mixing bowl; set aside. Reserve 1/2 cup strawberries for sauce.

Add half the dry ingredients and half the remaining strawberries to the egg mixture; mix on low until combined. Mix in remaining halves well; divide dough and pour in 2 greased and floured 8″x4″ loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool; slice and serve with strawberry sauce. Makes 8 servings per loaf. Sauce: 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened 2 T. sugar 1/2 c. reserved strawberries, puréed Combine ingredients until spreading consistency is achieved.

Fold in chocolate chips; drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are lightly brown. Cool for 2 minutes before removing from baking sheet. Makes about 3-1/2 dozen. Sodas just seem to taste better in old-fashioned parfait glasses! Add ice cream, your favorite toppings and a striped straw…guaranteed smiles!
