Claimed By My Stepbrother Alpha – Jasmine Fox

You look kinda pale,” Tuva said, worry creasing his face as he sat beside me. I forced a weak smile. “Tuva, I’m just feeling a bit off.” Not entirely a lie. After today’s chaos—office gossip, Andrew’s re- lentless pursuit, and spotting him lurking at the restaurant—I was drained, body and soul. “Off how? Need a hospital?”
Tuva’s brow furrowed deeper. “No, no hospital,” I waved him off. “Just work stress. I’ll rest at home.” “Want me to crank the AC? Grab you some water?” he asked gently. “I’m good, really,” I said, closing my eyes. “Tuva, thanks. I know I was weird tonight. Hope you’re not mad.” “Don’t apologize,” Tuva cut in. “Everyone has off days. How’re you feeling now?” His warm eyes calmed me.
“Better, thanks to you.” The car glided through the night, Tuva telling the driver to take it easy, glancing at me with concern. “We’re here,” he said twenty minutes later, pulling up to my apartment. “You sure you’re okay to go up alone? I can walk you.” “I’m fine now,” I shook my head. “It’s late. You don’t need to come up.”
Tuva nodded, still uneasy. “Text me when you’re inside, so I know you’re safe.” “Will do,” I said, stepping out. I turned back. “Tuva, thanks for tonight. Dinner was great, and your company… it meant a lot.” “Taking care of you’s my pleasure. Rest up. Call if you need me,” he said warmly. I waved, heading to the entrance. At the stairwell’s turn, I looked up and froze.
Andrew was crouched by my door, back against the wall, legs sprawled. His gray suit was rumpled, shirt open, tie askew. An emp- ty whiskey bottle sat beside him, another half-drunk one in his hand. “Andrew?!” I gasped. He lifted his head slowly, black hair a mess, sharp black eyes now hazy and vacant.
His cheeks were flushed, clearly plastered. “Gina…” His voice was rough, slurred. “You… you’re back…” What the hell? How’d he beat me and Tuva here, drunk as a skunk? Then I saw the car keys.
At sixteen, I stepped into Crescent City, the heart of Silver Moon Pack territory, for the first time. The wind whipped snowflakes against my face, sharp as a thousand tiny blades. Nobody knows how Silver Moon Pack came to be. Legend says endless battles in the snow forged the throne that stands today. Under the Alpha couple’s iron rule, nearby packs bow low, and join- ing Silver Moon is a badge of honor. I pulled my thin cloak tighter, my fingers trembling in the cold.
The Alpha couple who adopted me stood behind, their eyes heavy with something I couldn’t quite read—not cruel, but distant, like I was a stray lamb stumbling into a wolf den. “Is that the omega?” a sharp voice cut through the crowd. I looked up. A group of young pack members sauntered over, their eyes glinting with disdain. Their clothes screamed wealth, every strand of hair a testament to their purebred pride.
While my wolf form, although I hadn’t seen it yet, was likely gonna be a patchy mix of grays, like a wild, untamed mess. “Heard her parents were rogues. No pack, no nothing,” another voice sneered, dripping with mockery. My ears twitched, a bitter taste rising in my throat. I wanted to snap back, but what could I say? I wasn’t pure blood. My past was a blank slate—no family legacy, no pride to claim. So I dropped my head, letting their words coil around my heart like thorns.
Then, a deep, commanding voice sliced through the noise. “Enough.” The crowd fell silent. I lifted my eyes and saw him—a tall figure stepping out of the shadows. His dark hair caught the light, and those black eyes seemed to swallow the night itself. Andrew, the heir of Silver Moon Pack, the strongest young werewolf in these parts. “Silver Moon doesn’t need to tear others down to feel superior,” Andrew said, his voice low but sharp as a blade, cutting straight to the mockers’ hearts.
His gaze swept the crowd, then landed on me. “She’s one of us now,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argu- ment. “Disrespect her, and you’re disrespecting me.” My heart lurched. I never expected anyone to stand up for me, least of all Andrew—the Alpha heir I’d only heard about in whis- pers. My throat tightened, eyes stinging. He stepped closer, leaning down slightly, his dark eyes locking onto mine.
“Don’t listen to their bullshit,” he said softly, a rare warmth in his voice. “Your worth isn’t tied to your blood.” I nodded, fighting the tremor in my chest.
