You could confess it before but Harshu, I truly love you, and I don’t want to lose you. Please give me a chance.” She is pleading with him, hovering her hands on his cheeks. I suddenly felt ashamed of invading their privacy, so decided to step out and then. My body froze, sensing a rough and warm touch on my wrist, lifted my face slowly and it was him who held me, shaking his head not to leave.

My heart is beating rapidly feeling his touch and his amusing gestures. “Come on, Harshu! You can do that at least. Give us a chance, I am sure, you are not going to regret it.” She is continuously weeping holding him. Calm down, Vanya! I remember myself in the past, watching you. “I am extremely sorry Vanya.” He said staring at me from the corner of his eyes. “I can’t love you, never.” He said and then gazed at me.

Why is his eyes on me? What does that mean? I felt nervous and puzzled. Why did he do it? “Since the start, I thought you as a friend, but I was unable to tell the truth, was scared about our families but now it’s necessary for you to accept this.”

He said sternly. “No, please.” She is now sobbing and landed in a crouching position. I quickly lifted and made her sit on the bench. “See Vanya, I know it’s difficult to handle but you should face it, withstand it, and move on. You know, it’s a positive thing that, you get to know this earlier, than going into a forced relationship so come on, you can survive, you should just give life, one more chance.”

I said emotionally, patted her back and without my knowledge, my eyes were wet. Yeah, she resembled me in the past. I can understand her pain, all those sleepless nights, tears, and tense days flashed in my mind, making the way for tears. “I think, I can’t! My heart is crushing, I can’t imagine my life without him.” She yelled and immediately, I hugged her.

“I can understand your situation, Vanya but think about your ambitions and your Father, you still have a beautiful life to look forward. You can do this.” I said smiling in between sniffs. “Please, Vanya! You should be strong.” “Also, it was my sole mistake of imagining my life with him. He never raised my hopes, I just assumed and built everything. I deserve to get this.”

She gasped and I could feel her shudder in my arms. “Shh! You deserve more than these tears. Just give a chance to life.” I squeezed her arm, she parted away and started to wipe her tears. “You are correct. I should give myself another chance. At least I should attempt.” She stood looking confident. “That’s actually what you are!” I smiled.
