Kenna Rowan (Maika Monroe) emerges from an uncontested seven-year prison sentence for vehicular manslaughter under the influence to return to the hometown where she was held legally responsible for the death of her boyfriend Scotty Landry (Rudy Pankow). She hopes to finally meet the daughter she was forced to give up in prison but little Diem (Zoe Kosovic) is being raised by Scotty’s parents Patrick (Bradley Whitford) and Grace (Lauren Graham), both of whom angrily blame Kenna for the loss of their son.

Before Kenna can identify herself, she meets Scotty’s former best friend, Ledger Ward (Tyriq Withers). There is attraction but fascination turns to conflict when Ledger realises his crush is the source of much pain. Reminders Of Him targets tear ducts with two different renditions of Coldplay’s bittersweet lament Yellow and, possibly, the cutest child actor you’ll see all year.

But director Vanessa Caswill’s glossy drama declares its simplistic intentions from the outset with Monroe’s performance managing to burnish the trite dialogue. She catalyses chemistry with Withers, but the speediness of their infatuation assumes a deeper connection than we see. Whitford and Graham are sadly reduced to narrative cogs, blocking Kenna’s path to a dewy-eyed reunion until their resistance to sentimentality proves almost as futile as ours. attraction Withers and Monroe ONE LASt DEAL CERt 18, IN CINEMAS NOw ★★★ anny Dyer turns up the heat to boiling point in a pressure-cooker thriller set in the cutthroat world of sports talent management.

Shot in a single increasingly claustrophobic location, this relies heavily on its lead actor to deliver the goods as screenwriter Peter Howlett flirts with a yellow card for the inartful use of sexual assault as a key plot point. Summertime temperatures soar across London to 40C as football agent Jimmy Banks (Dyer) feels the heat in his airless office on a day that will decide his future.

His only client, Premier League player Matt Gravish (Elliott Rogers), is standing trial and is poised to receive a verdict. If Matt is found guilty, it will mean extinction for an old dinosaur like Jimmy. An unknown caller concealing their identity with voice- changing software demands £2million in two hours or they will release incriminating audio files for public consumption.

The Tory chief accused the Prime Minister of suppressing key parts of papers relating to the dis- graced peer being made ambassador to the US. Mrs Badenoch claimed Sir Keir “has been lying about what he knew”, adding “too many of the documents are missing”.

Catherine also let slip that William did not drink caffeine, while the couple helped out at food and drink companies near London’s River Thames. Afterwards they took some of the fruits of their labours to volunteers at an RNLI station. An early stop was Southwark Brewing Company on the famed Bermondsey Beer Mile, where William pulled on black rubber gloves to tip hops into the mix.

He quipped: “It smells like horse feed as you do it.” Founder Peter Jackson, 66, replied: “It’s good that it changes by the time it gets to your glass!” Catherine used the gloves to stir them after climbing a ladder to reach the top of the brewing “kettle”. The couple, who are notoriously competitive, then pulled pints to see who could do it best.

Peter tactfully said they could both do it better than him, adding: “You can come back on Saturday for a shift.” Next was the nearby Fabal Beerhall, where the future king and queen were offered beer and cider. Catherine politely declined and, referencing the cancer she beat in 2024, she told owner Hannah Rhodes: “Since my diagnosis, I haven’t had much alcohol. It’s something I have to be a lot more conscious of now.”

Turning to her husband, she patted his knee and said: “But you like your cider, don’t you?” William tried a fleet of ciders and beers. However, he had lined his stomach during a surprise visit to Borough Market with Catherine. At Humble Crumble, she told founder Kim Innes she had watched her on MasterChef the night before, then poured custard and sprinkled toppings on the crumble William ladled out. At Trethowan Brothers’ cheesemakers, owner Todd told the Prince: “That’s lunch taken care of!”
