Requirements workshops Gathering requirements is a crucial step in developing successful software products. Instead of focusing solely on features, modern approaches emphasize understanding business goals, user needs, and the broader context in which a system operates.

Techniques such as Impact Mapping, Domain Storytelling, visual glossaries, and Event Modeling help teams build a shared understanding, align stakeholders, and uncover the true value behind requirements. These methods extend beyond simply listing functions; they foster collaboration, visualization, and informed strategic decision-making. The Synergetic Blueprint process incorporates the workshop methods outlined in the requirements gathering section.

Although Impact Mapping is listed in the ideation section, it is categorized in the requirements workshops section because it connects ideation with requirements gathering. The overview is shown in Figure 4.4: Figure 4.4: Methods for the requirements gathering process in the Synergetic Blueprint Impact Mapping Impact Mapping is a method to combine strategic goals with features to be implemented.

It is a strategic planning technique10. Precondition Impact Mapping helps define the business value that needs to be delivered. No special preconditions are required, apart from the usual workshop setup: every participant should be able to see what is happening and contribute equally. Participants • • • • • 1. 2. 3.
