Kingdoms Of Moon And Mist Tales Of Erobred Book 2 – Scarlett Larsson

Other mooncasters? Out here? I looked at the others who didn’t seem as worked up over the possibility as I was, except for maybe Felix, who still looked ready to go the aggressive route and drown the strangers. “They might be from the Unexplored Lands!” Elvira gasped, voicing the exact thought that’d just entered my mind. Everyone stilled as we looked at each other. It wasn’t impossible that there was a whole group of mooncasters hiding out on an island that no one had ever heard of.
But wasn’t it also just as possible that these were the people Otieno and his crew had been looking for, even if they’d searched for them at the completely opposite end of the compass? Couldn’t they be from the island that Elvira had dreamt about for the decade she’d spent in prison? Heart hammering, my gaze followed the boat as it slowly came to a stop before us. Well, we were about to find out soon enough. “We should see what they want before we attack,” I concluded with finality, and the rest of the group, except Felix, agreed.
His hand twitched nervously at his side as his thumb now stroked the ring on his pinky that had once belonged to Felicity. I’d never seen this nervous tic in him. Even before the battle in Erobred, he’d seemed calmer than this. Why he was so worked up over these strangers, not even knowing if they wanted to harm us, baffled me.
He was usually the type to give people a chance to explain themselves before deeming them enemies. “We’re not here to fight!” Archie yelled, flailing his arms above his head. “We will not attack!” I gulped, wishing Archie had waited just a little before revealing that part of the plan to them. If they’d been closer, we could’ve gotten a look at them first to scope out their intentions.
Their blurry faces started to take shape as they neared us. They all looked young and, to my relief, not obviously aggressive. When their boat lightly tapped the side of ours, I saw that they were, in fact, all mooncasters. I gasped at how much the curse had marked their skin. It was like seeing Otieno’s crew, only wilder. Their skin not only danced with the colors of the night and the sparkle of the stars… It looked like moonlight was coating them in a light sheen, dancing with each subtle movement of their body.

Prudence Epilogue – Prudence Acknowledgements About the author Also by OceanofPDF.com To my amazing readers. You made me believe in this insane dream of mine—thank you. OceanofPDF.com OceanofPDF.com H eat abused every part of my body. Each time I breathed in, my nostrils burned with pain. The dry skin on my lips cracked anew with every exhale. Yet, all I could do was keep breathing. Thoughts of her invaded my mind, transporting me away from my state of constant fear and near-combustion. I was slouched against the hot stone wall, chin resting on my chest as I tried to rid myself of the pounding headache I couldn’t escape.
My clothes clung to me like liquid, torn and dirty and drenched in sweat. Metal I had no idea existed was clasped around my wrists, suppressing my powers like the solar metal did to mooncasters. I’d studied the history books in my time as a Defender and never once had I come across this type of artifact.
Apparently, Sol had made sure to leave some of these handy lunar metal cuffs on the island when he’d prepared it for his spell. He told us all about his brilliance during his first of many speeches. Even being his prisoner did not exempt me from those. I’d realized during his rambles how little we were actually taught about history.
Sol’s renditions of the war had very few similarities to my limited knowledge.
