Active Learning vs. Passive Learning These two learning styles differ based on who works to achieve the learning process. Active learning is learner-centered or self-learning. At the same time, passive learning is teacher-centered. A teacher need not work overtime to ensure the student understands the subject’s content. In active learning, the student has to think, discuss, challenge, and analyze the information. In passive learning, the student has to listen to absorb, assimilate, consider, and translate the information.

Active learning encourages conversation and debates, while passive promotes active listening, paying attention to every detail. Active learning helps the students more, and passive learning enables the students to retain knowledge. Active learning will help the students moderate their preconceived notions and biases after the discussions and changes in their beliefs. They should have vital observation, communication, and thinking skills for this. In passive learning, they might not have a chance to confront an area but can recognize the difference between what they believe and what they present.

2. Note-Taking Techniques While the class is on, always make it a habit to note down the lecture for future reference and comprehension. The techniques to write down the notes are as follows; a) Write phrases and not whole sentences:- If you think of writing down all lectures, it is impossible as you will not get time to write the entire thing.

Hence, writing down the points by paraphrasing using keywords that you can correlate later to recollect the main issues is good. b) In Your Own Words: Paraphrasing will help you not miss any points. It enables you to understand and remember what you hear. Try paraphrasing all the information except where you note down the data verbatim.

Many of them are blank on their goals either due to a lack of knowledge on the importance of goal setting or not considering the importance of the impending treasure such thoughts can penetrate their young brain. Why so? Is it ignorance of the significance of goals set during their studies pitching a more excellent value, or are they not appropriately guided? It can be either of them. However, I feel they should have set goals with a vision to improve their academic career to match that aim.

Ironically, I found confident children of the top professionals in their field of excellence, either medicine or information technology, were opposed to following suit as they have seen their experiences of busy schedules of either parents or by knowing the intricacies of those professions; they prefer a diverse career to have an effortless going lifestyle. I feel that the children must get proper guidance to set goals and continue their academic sessions accordingly to improve in the subjects they may need the most.

They must feel that once a plan is selected, only the achievement can ideally align with their aspirations, concentrating more on giving maximum time to the subject they choose. I have dealt with various factors involved in the curricular activities to ensure the students have an excellent method of understanding and memorizing to have a grip over their goals set.

OceanofPDF.com Introduction Every student’s dream is to excel in their classes, whether in school or college. In earlier days, academics were meant for a few privileged people with enough money as that was beyond the reach of the financially weaker section of society. Following the educational revolution, education transformed from the elite few to the right of many.
