Sittin’ down and takin’ off puts too much wear and tear on a ship. So they have these little doorways they send down and they walk into one on the ship and come out here and visa-versa. Some sorta teleporty device like what they have on Star Trek . . . except with a door that ya walk through.

“Next thing I know, they are asking me about a bazillion questions about plants and animals and water supplies and how we grow crops and hunt . . . And see, that’s why they all abduct Bubba Jo from Bumb Suck Nowhere. Not just so no one sees them or can see or use their shiny door, but mostly because college-educated people don’t know a damn thing these creatures are interested in.

They want to know how best to exist down here, and let’s face it, you don’t know diddly squat about that, but folks like me do. And see, we’re just a stop on their way. They’re travelers; they come here for a quick bite, check out the scenery, and then they move on. They have no desire to inhabit our planet, they are just looking for chow.
