About Us
1kitap1.com/en is a digital library project founded in March 2023, driven by a single core belief: “No one should be deprived of a good book simply because they cannot afford it.” This is a non-profit, volunteer-based digital sanctuary for knowledge seekers.
This platform is not a publishing house, a commercial entity, or a mere download portal. It is a “Common Library” maintained by a single individual who spends personal time scanning, cleaning, and organizing titles, while personally funding the server costs to keep this archive alive.
Behind the Project
I am the person who founded and manages this entire site. During the day, I work in a different profession (Cybersecurity); during evenings and weekends, I am the one scanning books, editing PDFs, sourcing high-quality covers, verifying text layers (OCR), creating categories, and keeping the system updated.
The ad revenue is negligible and kept to an absolute minimum to ensure a clean user experience. I do not accept donations, there are no subscriptions, and no registration is required. My sole motivation is that moment when someone searching for a rare title can finally say, “I found it!”
Our Growing Archive
Currently, our global archive at https://1kitap1.com/en houses nearly 800,000 titles. The vast majority of these include:
- Public Domain Classics: Timeless works whose copyright has expired.
- Authorized Materials: Works explicitly permitted by publishers or shared under Creative Commons licenses.
- Academic & Rare Records: Theses, vintage journals, and forgotten manuscripts.
- World Literature: Original and translated works in over 30 languages (English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Arabic, Persian, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Hungarian, Polish, Bengali, and more).
- Diverse Genres: Children’s books, comics, technical manuals, and everything I believe holds “quality” value.

I am extremely sensitive regarding intellectual property. If a copyrighted work has been uploaded by mistake, it will be removed within 24 hours upon notification from the rights holder. Simply email [email protected]; I prioritize these removals immediately, often before sending an automated reply.

If I have the book in my physical archive, I will add it the same day; if not, I will search until I find it. Sometimes finding a rare book takes weeks, but the “thank you” messages I receive make every second worth it.
A Shared Vision
I do not view this site as “mine.” It belongs to you—to all of us. The thought that while one person is downloading a book to read, someone on the other side of the world might be opening that same page, is what drives me to keep adding new titles every single day.
1kitap1.com/en started with the simple desire of one person to touch at least one life through a book. That excitement remains unchanged.
