He’d heard about the use of Sir, of the use of Master, and it had always struck him as odd. Clearly, this wasn’t the lifestyle for him. He preferred equality, with no obviousness that there was a difference between himself and Oliver. Yet he’d learnt that there was equality in this kind of relationship—it was just something he obviously couldn’t see clearly enough. He shrugged, not wanting to go into the ins and outs of something he didn’t intend learning much about beyond what he needed to know for this investigation.

And he’d need to do some of that research Oliver had done, as the man they were looking for had chosen this venue to pick up his victims. Langham was interested to see how this beating would pan out. Lisa and Tina had been victims of a vicious assault —not the kind of controlled activity that would no doubt take place here— so was the man they were looking for inexperienced?

What could be taken from that? The killer clearly wanted to go beyond the realms of acceptability, to break the rules of this lifestyle. He wanted more than he was perhaps allowed to get in this type of scenario, which led Langham to believe that the killer wasn’t interested in BDSM at all.

Not the true kind. This then, this place, was just a pick-up point, a mask that hid his true intentions. From that alone Langham knew he was dealing with a very clever man, someone who had façades in place, a lifestyle to hide behind. The killer sickened him. Maybe he’d decided not to come back here so soon after his last visit. But who was there to tell the police that a strange man had been here, chatting up women?

It was the norm, his actions nothing but regular. He’d have made sure he didn’t stand out, didn’t do anything that would draw attention to himself.

Oliver and Langham are on the hunt for another killer—one who befriends women then kills them because he thinks God told him to. He uses a roulette wheel to determine their manner of death, and the result is never pretty. During their investigation, Oliver and Langham have to visit a BDSM club, knowing the killer will be there. However, Oliver’s senses are messed up— there are too many people around, and the stage show is a little too interesting—so the man they seek gets away.

After the show, the two men have questions about what they want in the bedroom. Can they open up to one another and explain exactly what they want? Through messages from the dead, Oliver knows the killer will lure another woman away very soon. The question is, will Oliver and Langham reach her in time before the roulette wheel spins again?
