Architecture Design – Vol 43 Issue 2 February 2026 – Architecture Design

We attend global design exhibitions, maintain relationships with premium material suppliers, subscribe to industry publications, and continuously learn through our own experimentation. KK: Tell us about a recently completed project. What was the client’s brief, and how did that influence the overall concept you had in mind for the project? RG: A recently completed project that best represents our design philosophy is The Frame House, a 7,500 sq ft private residence designed for the Singhal family. The brief was to create a calm, light-filled, and timeless home that balances refined aesthetics with everyday functionality.
The clients wanted a residence that feels expansive yet warm, supports family life across different stages, and avoids overt trends in favour of longevity and comfort. This brief became the foundation of the overall concept. The design was envisioned around openness, natural light, and spatial flow, with a strong emphasis on clarity and restraint.
A muted, warm colour palette was chosen to create a sense of serenity, while architectural planning focused on maximising daylight and strengthening the indoor–outdoor relationship. One of the key responses to the brief was the grand double-height living area, which forms the heart of the home and visually connects all three levels. This central volume establishes openness and scale while maintaining a calm, composed atmosphere. Spaces were thoughtfully zoned to balance shared family areas with personalised zones, including a private home office and a dedicated nursery, allowing the home to evolve with the family’s needs.
Material selection, lighting, and detailing were approached with the same intent—prioritising subtle luxury, craftsmanship, and functionality. From bespoke elements to carefully curated brand collaborations, every decision was guided by the client’s desire for a home that feels intuitive, elegant, and enduring. The result is a residence that reflects quiet sophistication while remaining deeply rooted in the way the family lives every day.
KK: What’s the biggest challenge you face as designers?
