Like the wind when we’re flying. Another clap of thunder, right overhead. I can feel the vibrations in the air. The rain’s about to come. I back away from Caeli, watching as she goes to join them, when the full force of the wind hits me. Circling and making it impossible to see anything but ash. I turn in the direction of where the camp should be. I will never be far away enough for no one to get hurt, but I have to believe I’ll have enough control.

I spread my arms out wide and throw up as many shields as I possibly can before I explode. Trying my best to protect the camp. Lightning cracks over me. The rush is coming. And when the rains begin to fall, when thunder roars, when that beautifully gold colored lightning comes for me, I don’t explode or erupt as I did before. I simply release. And my gods – that raging, shadowed darkness that is my magic feels like the truest form of freedom.

1kitap1.com/en I closed my eyes when I let that beast come out. When I let my magic come crashing through. But when I open them, my magic isn’t coursing through me and into the world. I’m not even where I was before. Instead, I’m standing in the middle of a hallway leading in three different directions. It feels oddly familiar.

Like a forgotten dream or lost memory. I turn when I hear a giggling little girl running towards me before going down another hallway. She can’t be more than six or seven. Wearing a long sleeve, light blue and lavender colored dress. Her hair is curled up in a ponytail.

Behind her comes a young, twenty looking pixie – if her pink hued skin and hair aren’t any indication. I stare at them as the little girl goes down the hallway in front of me and the maid follows. A fire sparks through my blood. She’s so small. I continue watching as the little girl dashes down another hallway, out of sight. Everyone always just assumes that all a Raconteur is is a storyteller.

We listen to the whispers in the wind and elements and our purpose is to tell those stories. To make them remembered. A Raconteur’s greatest magic is to make the forgotten remembered. But there are some who don’t just listen. Rare. This kind of magic is so rare that I haven’t met another raconteur in any world or universe who can do it as well. But I know there are others. Raconteur’s who can see. Not see as in enhanced vision, and not like a seer or Viden.

This kind of seeing is more. Sometimes the stories I’m supposed to remember and make remembered are shown to me. And sometimes I can go back and see them for myself.

Second, this is my first ever book that I am publishing, by myself. I know it’s not going to be perfect, but I do hope that you at least enjoy the story. And if you don’t/didn’t, well then, I don’t know I guess sorry? But I hope you do! Lastly, while this isn’t a dark romance (I’m used to dark romance’s with all their trigger warnings which is why I’m saying this) with all the trigger warnings, there are still some darker themes including but not limited to.
