Beautiful Mess – Yuktha Asrani

Chirag’s eyes were set into motion as they skimmed the length of her gorgeous curves. The sequinned nude mini number exhibited her well- rounded figure. Her legs looked insanely sexy in her killer high black pumps. Diamond solitaires adorned her delicate ears and caught the light from the overhead bulbs, nearly blinding him with their shine. She oozed wealth and sophistication.
A sly smile dangled on the corner of his lips. With a slight raise of his refilled glass, he acknowledged her entry. As she approached him, Tiya trailed her long-manicured fingers along the back of his broad shoulders clad in a crisp white linen shirt. Leaning in, her lips grazed his lobe. Chirag sucked in a sharp breath at the sweet sensation of her ample orbs pressing into his back. ‘To what do I owe the pleasure of this summon?’
she whispered in a husky tone. Leaning closer to him, she shifted to rest her elbows on the counter. The strong floral scent of her perfume tickled his nostrils. ‘Just calling on a friend to share a couple of drinks.’ Chirag’s arms curled around and plastered her body to his side. Tiya smirked and tossed her long golden brown streaked beachy waves over her shoulder. She enthroned herself on the barstool. ‘It appears like you’ve poured yourself into this dress.’
Chirag’s voice turned breezy as his gaze dipped to her cleavage. Tiya’s palm cupped his razor-sharp chin, her face mere inches away from his. ‘Only the best for my favourite person,’ she said in a husky tone. ‘Also, you have been declining my booty calls. So I thought you might need some incentive.’ ‘Yeah, about that.’ Chirag gave a quick shrug. ‘Was entangled in a hot mess. It’s all sorted now.’ He deliberately shoved away the thoughts of Kajol that kept surfacing every five minutes.
He was like a dog with a bone. ‘Come on, let’s have a couple of drinks first before we pick up from where we left off.’ A few pegs down and Chirag had a nice buzz going. Tiya had been blatant with her sexual advances. His body burned everywhere she touched him. Figuratively speaking he was going up in flames. Right that moment her hand was inching up his jeans clad thighs and his muscles strained under her touch.
Chirag clamped her hand in a firm grip as it reached dangerously close to his junk. ‘Come on, let’s get this party started.’ He cupped her neck and whispered against her chin. Tiya uncrossed her long legs and gracefully raised herself from the stool. ‘My place is closer.’ She angled her glass and swiped off her drink in one go.

My ever-shining light. Chapter 1 New York-USA Clutching her tote to her chest, Kajol tore across the road and ducked into the nearest alley. Her mind sprinted with thoughts as she darted a glance at her apartment door. Why was this happening today? She let out a heavy sigh, her shoulders sagging. ‘Kajol?’ Jimmy boomed, tugging at his shabby grey pants.
The August sun’s warm rays bounced off his bald head. With fisted hands, he banged on Kajol’s apartment door yelling, ‘Kajol, you have two weeks…I repeat, two more weeks before I slap an eviction notice on your door.’ He cursed, dabbing at the sweat on his forehead. The wooden stairs thundered as he descended down them to the pavement. Throwing one last glare at the closed door, he clumped in the direction of his apartment.
‘Oh God.’ Kajol squeezed her heavy-lidded eyes and exhaled. Her last two months’ rent was overdue, and her landlord was not giving her any more leeway. Great. And the day has only just begun. She shot one last cautious glance across the street to see if the coast was clear and then plodded out of the alley. Practicing her yoga technique, she inhaled and exhaled deeply, trying to calm herself. With clammy hands, she smoothed her olive-green wool dress that hugged her curves to perfection. Regret washed over her mind at the thought that if she hadn’t quit her job on a whim, her life would not have turned into a big fat load of crap.
She shook her head in despair. In retrospect, her previous job had felt like she was pushing a boulder uphill, constantly fearful that it would come rolling down on her, crushing her under its weight.
