Bible Promises For Parents Of Children With Special Needs – Amy E Mason (1)

. . PSALM 40:8 | I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart. PROVERBS 4:25-27 | Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil. PHILIPPIANS 3:13-14 | I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
When you wonder if your child will meet the goals you’re working toward . . . ZECHARIAH 4:10 | Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin. GALATIANS 6:9 | Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
When you wonder what kind of goals to set . . . 1 CORINTHIANS 14:1 | Let love be your highest goal! MICAH 6:8 | The LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. LUKE 12:31 | Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.
Goals are necessary for staying on track. In therapy, you set goals for your child’s physical or behavioral development. In a medical setting, you set goals for improving your child’s health. At school you might set goals as part of your child’s educational plan. By planning ahead and setting attainable goals, the therapist or doctor ensures that your child will stay on the right track and arrive at a particular point of health or development. The same principle is true for you.
Setting attainable goals gives you a destination and the direction to get there. Without goals, it is easy to wander from what you value. But the key is setting attainable goals. When you set unrealistic goals, you will be discouraged when you don’t reach them and may feel like giving up. It’s okay to take baby steps. Most people make progress one step at a time.
When setting goals, invite God to inspire each step you take. Allow him to write a life plan for you and your child. He may surprise you along the way, but you can walk with confidence that he is leading you both in the best direction. 1kitap1.com/en When you’re tired of waiting . . .
