Nyn glanced up to see her best friend hug their lover. She kept her cool gaze on them as they briefly brushed lips against each other before fully kissing.

The door creaked open. A small breeze whipped through the open doorway, sending up dust into the stale air. A shadow of a man stood at the entrance, a gloom filling the countryside behind him. A bow was slung over his shoulder, and a short sword hung from his belt. A brown leather jacket covered his upper body.

His leather armor underneath was a dulled brown, with faded markings. His clothes were also a dim green. He reached the center of the living room. When he didn’t sense any creatures or animals living in the home, his shoulders relaxed and he let out a tired sigh. Lifting his left hand up, he looked at the letter again.
