Breeder Mage 5 – Marc Robert

“This is Ouroborean magic,” she grinned, her amber-colored eyes suddenly becoming all pitch-black. “Ouroborean magic?” I whispered the words. “Yes,” the angel girl nodded, “powerful old magic.” Then she nodded again: “Your magic.” I furrowed my brow, that feeling of deja vu hitting me a second time like a ton of bricks. I was tempted to make a joke about me maybe being a Fire Mage or something.
But I actually knew quite a lot more about my powers now compared to the last time that I had had this dream, or whatever this was. The red-head pursed her lips, as if guessing my thoughts. “It is my power that is born of fire, Derek Shaw,” she said.
“Whereas your power, your power is born of … sex.” Somewhere, like somewhere way far off in the distance, I could hear this awful kind of snarling sound. So awful … and yet so damn familiar. And growing louder and louder by the second. But I tried my best to ignore it. I wanted to stay with this. I wanted to stay inside this dream or this …
this near-death experience, or whatever this was, and hear the rest of what this red-headed angel girl had to say about my Ouroborean magic. “You are a Breeder Mage,” she told me then, “but you already know that. However, what you do not know is how your father really died. And who killed him.” My heart literally almost stopped beating when she said that. Or maybe it actually did stop beating back up in the real world or whatever, as I bled out on the cold stone floor of that dungeon tunnel, that snarling demon on top of me still clawing away at my body.
I felt a huge suffocating weight on my chest.

All of my books take place in the same world. A world where Earth and a dark magical realm called Ourobor are linked together by a series of magic portals. The scientists from our world who opened the first portal to Ourobor called this new world that they found Other Earth.
Orcs, elves, goblin girls, beast-kin, mimics, and even dragons: these creatures are all real. Some of them want to live with us in peace. While others want to make war. But either way, now that the portals are open, Earth and Other Earth will never be the same again. This level of the dungeon was more of a labyrinth than a maze, one single long subterranean tunnel sloping downward. But I needed to keep going if I wanted to find a way out of this place. I hefted up my enchanted pick-axe, keeping my wits about me. Sharp and alert. Ready for just about anything. Oona Brawn, the Berserker goddess, had said that there would be more monsters down this way. More chances for fighting and killing. More chances to harvest even more mana cores. And, of course, more chances for us to get ourselves off while doing it.
