Code Of War – JW Clay (1)

“Y’all need to take it easy. Marcus, it’s my job to consider everything, okay? Harrison, I agree she took a risk for our benefit, but it doesn’t mean we go rushing in.” Jen looks them both over. It’s obvious Harrison would do anything to get away from here, while Marcus would probably bury himself in the backyard if the ground weren’t frozen. “Let’s do as she said: we research it.
Either of you ever heard of this gal?” “Never,” says Marcus. “That’s why we can’t trust her.” “I don’t know her,” adds Harrison. Jen nods. “Right … we’ll have a look. Let’s see what we can shore up, on and off the record.” Her diplomacy has worked. She disarmed them for now. She hopes the conflict remains settled, no matter what they find on Martinez. “Let’s get working on her request, and no arguments here. We can have it done in twelve hours with what she’s provided.”
They all sit down and start on what Martinez has asked for: the cyber- kinetic elimination of Jarod Martin. Backdoors and locations are in the email, making the turnaround faster. A special request accompanies the email: Martinez has asked the Group to host a link to the surveillance cameras the Group will use to track Jarod. It’s easy enough. Jen will put up a website through her VPN that will show the camera feeds.
When it’s ready, she’ll send the link to Martinez. But why the hell does she want this? It stays at the forefront of Jen’s mind. It’s morbid to want to watch a man die, and Jarod’s death will be a brutal one. Evidence backs every elimination: stills from the elimination, voice data, and the location where it occurred. This is an unusual case, something not lost on her. Jarod hacked the CIA. Maybe Martinez wants a thorough assessment of Jarod’s death? Watching him die in real time would achieve that.
Could there be technical reasons? Possibly, but unlikely. They’ll have a lot of layers between her and the webpage that will display Martinez’s camera feeds. Speculations like these aren’t Jen’s strong suit, but she puts it out of her mind, knowing that there’s a reason behind the request. She shouldn’t grant it, but since Martinez tried on behalf of the Group, the Group will return the gesture.
She’s a Texan, after all, and Texans have excellent manners. 1kitap1.com/en Forty-One PLA Unit 61398’s center screen shows a pinned location on a satellite image.
Her target is the United States, but the mission starts with one of Mexico’s most ruthless cartels … and a weapon capable of killing thousands. When she’s finished, the cartel will be the Western Hemisphere’s most notorious terror organization. And the United States will be ensnared in a trap it cannot escape.
But the cartel is more than a criminal empire; it’s a twisted cult built on dark rituals and savagery. As Anastasia travels deeper into Mexico’s underworld, she realizes her own life may be the price of success. Clay About the Author 1kitap1.com/en One New York As Tony Rossi looks through the windshield of his speeding Mercedes-Benz, his irritation is growing. He’s traveling across the Bronx- Whitestone Bridge, and the East River’s churning waters are bringing in a curtain of fog, along with slowing traffic conditions. It’s not an ideal situation for a wanted man. As a member of the New York Mafia, he’s aware of the underworld’s rules, and he knows those rules are working against him.
Tony is under indictment by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and his partners would like to keep him silent, preferably with a bullet. As the winter night’s traffic thickens into what could be a trap, Tony Rossi thinks of survival. Death itself doesn’t provoke fear or anxiety. Those were stamped out of Rossi long ago.
