By the time Albert Green arrived with Caledonia Farley, Vicki, and Montoya, it was well past midnight and he wondered whether he’d get any sleep at all that night. Felix looked about as tired as he was as he hugged Maria and shook hands with the others. Clearly, his partner was about as wrung out as he was.

They’d been through a whole lot that night and having to explain it all to the others was going to take precious hours out of his sleep schedule. He greeted the group with handshakes and introduced Cassidy and Mike who’d stayed behind to help catch the agents up. After the introductions, Pope headed to the kitchen across the large sitting area and made a full pot of coffee.

He figured they were all going to need the caffeine. By the time he’d returned to the suite’s living room with a tray of coffee cups, Felix had finished explaining what had happened at the club and in the limousine. Pope was pretty sure the surprise on every face had more to do with their group getting ambushed and less to do with Felix being obligated to follow Prince Ali into a back room to watch him get a blowjob from Percy.

As he handed out coffee, he forced himself not to laugh at the absurdity of the evening. “So, what the fuck? Who shot at you?” Vicki asked. The look on his face was one of shock but the others who’d arrived with him couldn’t hide similar expressions. Pope had known Carmine Vickarino a long time and seeing him this flustered was out of character.

Vicki joked around a lot but he had always had good instincts and that’s what made him a superior detective when he was with the LAPD. At the moment, Pope was really glad he’d followed him to Homeland. “The only thing the LAPD was able to confirm was that the car was a Range Rover and that they lost it somewhere on the side streets in Beverly Hills. It could be anywhere,” Cassidy said. He’d been on the phone with his lieutenant at the Brentwood station for some time.

He took a sip of coffee and looked about as grim as the rest of their friends. “What about plates? You ran them, I’m sure,” Felix said.

Homeland Security Investigators Pope Dades and Felix Jbarra have been partnered for six months and the excitement on and off the job keeps getting better. Working together every day is generally routine but when the partners are assigned to supplement the Secret Service on a VIP protection detail, things really begin to heat up. An alternative energy conference is being held in Los Angeles. When Felix and Pope learn they’ll be bodyguards to a Saudi Arabian prince, they’re expecting rides in fancy limousines, a stay at the world-famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel, and exotic food.

What they don’t expect is being once again thrown into the line of fire… literally. Someone has put out a hit on Prince Ali ibn Abd Pasha and the killers want it carried out on US soil to embarrass the Americans in retaliation for US news coverage over the murder of one of their journalists late last year. Felix and Pope only learn of the danger to the prince when a Secret Service agent friend is nearly killed.

Pope and Felix dive headfirst into another exciting case but when they learn the man they’re guarding might be involved in arms trafficking because of ties to Mills Lang, they are forced to once again call on their buddies at the ATF. Action, intrigue, and danger abound in the thrilling conclusion of the Thin Blue Line series.
