Brandon screamed, ‘Trees burn too!’ as Laura pushed him into the dark woods. ‘Just stay here until we come back!’ she yelled. ‘Keep everyone away from the dock!’ Ollie, Kelly, Monica, Gwen, and all the other campers were packed in the woods around them. All of them were screaming and crying.

Only two campers stayed calm—Lydia stared expressionless at nothing, and Will, even though the world around him was literally burning, still played his Game Boy. ‘Come on!’ Robin shouted, beckoning Casey and Chris to come with them. Both quickly got Rebecca back in her wheelchair and pushed her into the woods next to some of the boys, as far away as possible from Lydia. The boys gathered around Rebecca and asked if she was okay. She cried and nodded, although she was anything but okay.

Casey didn’t want to leave her, but she had to handle the fire. ‘Stay with her!’ she yelled. Carlos stuttered and yelled back, ‘S- sure!’ Casey and Chris went to run after Robin, but Casey quickly grabbed Chris and stopped him. ‘Wait!’ she cried, dragging him to the dock, and then screamed, ‘Tooobeeeyyyyyy!’ with ear-piercing decibels across the pond. Chris did the same, yelling for him to come back.

In the distance, he could see the tiny figures of Tobey, Kenny, and Tyler looking in their direction. A scream came from the camp behind them. ‘Come on!’ Chris cried, running toward the camp, dragging Casey with him. Josh recognized the scream. It was Robin. He switched his wheelchair into manual mode and with furious aggression, pushed with his arms.

Using a power he never knew he had, he wheeled out of the rough woods toward the camp. ‘Where are you going?’ Kelly cried, tears falling from her eyes. ‘Stay there!’ he shouted back, wheeling quickly to the camp. Smoke was bellowing from the boys’ cabin, flames lapping around the back. Laura was running to the rear of the cabin when a figure lunged toward her from the smoke.

She screamed as a pair of heavy hands gripped her shoulders and yanked at her T-shirt. Then the figure fell to the ground with a groan.

Everything that had happened there was just a fading memory. The Wheelchair Camp Massacre had become a tale twisted with time, repeated around campfires until it was a deformity of the truth. As the camp’s cabins rotted, the wheelchair track ravaged by the elements, and the access ramps corroded, the legend still lurched through a depraved mind.

To this person, there was one fact, one single thing that stopped the slayings that had happened there from being the perfect killing spree. There was a factor that no one had thought of, a factor that needed to be amended. Over a decade later, across the pond from the old wheelchair camp, a new wheelchair camp was a day away from opening. One more day. It was time for it to begin again. But this time, it was going to be done the right way.

The way it should have been done the first time. One more night to practice what had been learned. One more night to make sure practice was perfect. They can roll, but they can’t hide. This is the story of the Wheelchair Camp Massacre Part 2. OceanofPDF.com Chapter One. New Jersey woodlands, June 26, 1996 ‘Don’t you, like, feel guilty?’ Courtney Gayheart asked, chewing her nails as she sat shotgun in her boyfriend’s Chevy Nova.

Wesley Blanks took his eyes from the dark road, gave her a look, and turned down the stereo, killing his Smashing Pumpkins CD. ‘What are you talking about?’ ‘Well, you know. That guilt thing.’
