“Why won’t you? Do you not want them to visit?” I shook my head. “I have no issues with your parents coming to visit,” I told him. “In fact, I’m very much looking forward to meeting them. I wish my parents were still alive and you would have had the opportunity to meet them. They weren’t exactly terrible parents, but they weren’t amazing either.” I think they would have liked Frederick, but I’ll never know.

The door to the cabin opened and a man who was in slacks and a button-down shirt stepped out onto the porch. “Frederick, bring your One in out of the cold.” He looked over at me and grinned. “I’m Rainier, by the way. You must be Dominic,” he said as he came down a few steps with an outstretched hand.

I reached for the offered hand and shook it. “I am, yes. It’s so nice to meet you finally. Frederick has talked about all of you several times since we claimed one another.” Rainier offered a warm smile. “Hopefully everything he has told you was positive.” I smiled at the older warlock. I knew exactly what he was doing, and that he most likely understood just how nervous I was about meeting everyone in the family. “Is there anything other than positive to say about our family?”

Frederick said teasingly. “I’m sure there are a few skeletons in our families closet somewhere. Let’s not worry about dragging those out tonight, though,” Rainier said before he turned back my way. “If I don’t get you inside soon, Étienne is never going to let me hear the end of it. He is super excited to meet you, as are Eli and Drew.” I was quickly trying to remember who belong to whom, but I was failing miserably.

With Fredericks hand on my back we followed Rainier up into the house. “Eli is Benjamin’s One, and Drew is Sebastian’s,” he told me through our bond. I looked over at him in relief. “How did you know?” “The panic I felt through our bond told me you were struggling with something.

Frederick Ainsworth’s life is, for lack of a better word, mundane. Needing something to occupy his time, he joins the Council as an enforcer, with the small hope that he’d have a better chance of finding that perfect someone to spend the rest of eternity with too. So far, nothing. That is, until he’s sent to Amherst on assignment. When new information about some of the warlocks from Italy is discovered, their involvement in their coven’s trafficking needs to be proven or denied.

Dominic DeLuca is simply old and tired. Well, he feels it. Just shy of three centuries, he is pretty set in his ways, and the last thing he expected was a chance at a new start in a different coven. When the Paranormal Council discovered just how involved his coven master was in human trafficking and drugs, he assumed he would go down with the coven.

When his body reacts to the handsome warlock enforcer who is suddenly in Amherst to ask some follow-up questions, he’s elated. That is, until he receives a less-than-warm welcome from him. Frederick’s first reaction is frustration at being gifted a dishonest One. But once his mind clears, he quickly realizes that he should have known better, and he owes the gorgeous warlock an apology for the public snub. Will Dominic forgive him though? Frederick is Book Fifteen in the Paranormal Council Enforcers series. Each book in this series will focus on a different couple, but these books are not standalones and should be read in order as there is an ongoing backstory that won’t be resolved quickly.

This is a fated mate story in an MPreg world, and there will be at least one baby. You should expect all the normal shenanigans, and remember that sometimes even fated mates need a little help.
