The perspective of enlightenment is an integral aspect of objectification as well. It represents an alternative approach to perceiving and experiencing it. We can never get closer than words can take us. OceanofPDF.com Nothing is the absence of things that don‘t exist. We were walking slowly into the restaurant yesterday when a biker pulled up.

“Do you have room for two more on that bike?” I asked. He looked back at his bike and said, “I have room for one”. We laughed and went in to be seated. After we were done eating, he approached our table and said: “There‘s an old saddle over there on the floor, perhaps I could strap that on and take you both.

We spent the next ten minutes talking about life and stuff, and he moved softly into who I am. There is a secret code hidden in the word gullible. You can never know who or what you are. You can never figure out what’s going on. You can never know where you are. You can never know what’s going to happen. You can never if there is such a thing as reality. Ain’t it great?

No matter what they tell you, as human beings, we can only experience separation. We exist only as imaginary, separate entities. We are the illusion of objectified separation. There is in the center of the conceptual swirling collage of accumulated self-referential memories a sublime quiescence. But it is not experienced as oneness or unification. The so-called awakened mind lives suspended between the consensus- conceptual overlay and that quiet emptiness inside. But all of that is still part of the dream we are.

……a loosely woven arabesque…….caught in the warp a weave of time and space….. OceanofPDF.com Primates are hierarchical animals. Generally, the strongest and most dominant individuals gravitate to the top of the pecking order. In its struggle to survive, the human mind will extend its inclinations to defer to authority figures in its search for personal and spiritual relevance and fall under the sway of those who appear to know what they are doing.

Ministers, astrologists, priests, spiritual healers, shamans, palm readers, cult leaders, and gurus are assumed to have the inside story and are sought out in the mind‘s attempt to discover how it fits into a that which is imagined to be the “big picture”. The only problem is that all the above-imagined characters are authorities on imaginary realms in which ultimately, there is nothing to discover.

“I Am This” is a series of thoughts that arose after a profound shift in the way an objectifying brain experiences the world. This shift is commonly thought of as enlightenment, but ultimately it is a brain that has perceived that things, separate existential entities, including the self, have no actual reality but exist only as conceptual overlays. The ordinary human mind is a swirling collage of self-referential memories gathered over a lifetime.

Those who live in this worldview are caught in what is experienced as a cause-and-effect reality in which they have choices. They live in the tension between imaginary personal volition and a universe that defies their intellectual abilities to grasp or understand. Most will spend their lives in this shadowland of imaginary separation. There is a profoundly different way to experience being alive in which the mind drifts along, suspended between being subsumed between the sublime joy of simply being in a vast unknown unknowableness and the normal human interaction which is now experienced as a dream.

How this is attained is unknown and likely to remain so. This book was originally written to leave some space for the reader to write comments. I would have found this nice when I used to read books concerning this matter. I Am This in the Kindle edition is an ongoing project that will be added to as new ideas come along. I am always finding old writing scribbled on odd bits of paper. I apologize if there are any repeats but there doesn’t seem to be way to check for that.

OceanofPDF.com This book would never have been possible without Aime Lecusay. Aime is a very talented artist that lives in Savannah, Georgia These words would have evaporated without her encouragement and contribution. Her talent and sense of balance have added a dimension to the book that escapes my ability to articulate. She has worked tirelessly in spite of there being more than the normal difficulties that life presents. Our conversations have deepened my perspective, and she has become a source of light in this shadowland dream. OceanofPDF.com M ichael Markham’s writing points to the depths of our shared human experience with poignant grace and beauty.
