“I fucked up. We can’t get married at the Mission. I overlooked that detail.” In his manic dash to get married, Gavin overlooked a detail, go figure. I hopped back onto his lap. “So you were a tad impulsive, booking stuff like crazy, and you messed up?” He nodded with such a serious expression. “My family is staying at the hotel, and the airport’s right there.” His eyes were full of worry. “Please tell me that’s okay, Baby.”

This was too easy. I bit my smile down, replying with straight lips. “I guess the wedding’s off.” He bucked off the seat, sending me flying with him, his hands to his temples. “Fuck! No, Baby, I—” “Gavin!” Oh, my God! Although, it was flattering how much he wanted to marry me—just Sadie. “The beach is also special to me.

Plus, fewer flowers. I’m okay with it.” He dropped his head back, letting out a sigh of relief. “I thought you were gonna be pissed.” I kept teasing him, sliding my arms around his back. “I’m glad no one rushed me into making invitations. Wait, why would it matter about being close to the airport?”

Gavin shrugged. “Because I booked a red-eye flight for after the reception.” Seriously? This man was boom-boom-boom in the sheets and out of the sheets. “You what?” A red-eye? Only Gavin! He clasped my hands, making me focus on him as he said, “I wanted our first night together to be in Italy. We’ve already done all the fucking hotels around here. I wanted it to be special.”

“Gavin, I can’t even with you!” Maybe I’d imagined that conversation in his closet where he specifically said I’d be planning the entire wedding, minus his tux. “I’m going to walk down the aisle, go to the reception, and then hop on a plane for twenty-plus hours. Are you trying to kill me?” Terror-stricken eyes met mine. Shit. “I mean, I’m going to be very tired when we get to Italy, and I was hoping to not be tired on our wedding night.”

His devilish grin formed right back up. “I was planning on spending most of our time in bed anyway, Baby.”

And the start of a happily ever after. OceanofPDF.com CHAPTER 1 I CROSSED MY arms over my sweat-soaked sports bra and rested back against one of the many stacks of boxes lining Pat’s living room. I’d been running on autopilot, one box after another, not realizing my exhaustion until now, taking what felt like my first breath. Somehow, we’d managed to unload the entire moving truck ourselves.

Pat triumphantly marched the last box in through the door, piling it with the others and exclaiming, “We did it!” “We did!” I scanned the house of cardboard. “I’m wiped out.” He brushed his hand through his sweaty hair, shaking out the strands. “I think it’s time to call it a day. I’ve got to get the moving truck back by five.”

“By five?” I smacked my thighs, remembering I had no pockets in these shorts, which meant no phone. “What time is it?” “A little past four. Time flies when you’re having fun.” Oh my god! I’d been over here almost seven hours! “I have to go!” Pat beat me to the open doorway, standing in my path. “Want to come with me to return the truck? Then I’ll take you to dinner as a thank you for helping.”

Dinner with you… Gavin would have heart attack. Just like the one he was probably having right now with me not answering my phone for almost an entire day! “No, sorry.” My eyebrow bumped up as I eyed the exit he blocked. He stepped aside, but only by a few inches, asking as I squeezed past him, “Are you working tomorrow?” Darting across his driveway to mine, I yelled over my shoulder, “Yeah, day shift.

You?” “Day as well! I’ll see you tomorrow!” “Sounds good.” I rushed through my door, hearing my phone ringing on the counter. Here we go. I snatched it up and answered, “Hello?” “Finally!
