Journey To The Temple Of Ra – David P Tangredi (1)

The goal need not merely be the reaching of my destination, but ought to include everything along the way. OceanofPDF.com John decided to re-emerge into the human community of which he was a part. Everyone I have grown to love were strangers at the start—he reasoned. So for the remainder of his week in Lyon, John mingled with the people around him. He struck up conversations without hesitation whenever the opportunity was presented. He shared of himself and his journey, and found others sharing of themselves in return.
As if responding to his efforts, his luck began to change. He felt more like his old self again: charming, friendly, and attracting attention and affection wherever he went. He was thankful for what each day brought. He enjoyed the company of the new acquaintances who surrounded him and as a result, learned more about life in Lyon than he had expected. Two days before his rent expired, John found himself making a spontaneous decision. He decided to sell his horse and travel the rest of the way to the sea by boat.
Earlier that day, John had been walking through Vieux Lyon, the oldest part of the city at the base of the Fourvière Hill. He had spotted an open-air market and paced up and down among the vendors waiting for something to draw him in. Most of what he saw were countrymen selling goods from farms that lay just outside of the city. However, one man stood out among them. The first thing John noticed about this man was his volume, in both senses of the word.
He was a large man who spoke with much exuberance. His voice was louder than any other and was frequently yelping out with glee and amusement. His full cheeks were rosy, a combination of the cool air and the cheerfulness that billowed from within him. When he spoke, his arms expressively shaped the images he portrayed.
