He called, \u201cMeet me at the bungalow, Beck.\u201d Then he vanished beyond the torchlight. \u201cDid you understand that?\u201d asked Soto. Noelle swallowed again. He\u2019d used her real name. \u201cI think the stupid little man tried to say, meet me back at the bungalow.\u201d She began walking across the sand. \u201cSee you tomorrow, honey,\u201d called Soto. \u201cAnd you two have fun tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

When she arrived at their suite, she found that the island staff had turned down their bed and closed the doors and windows, all but two, so instead of an open-aired hut it was now a true private suite. The bathroom door was open and the shower ran. She picked up his pants and thew them into the corner. The Diegos plan was good.<\/p>\n

She pushed her hair back, and realized she was shaking. \u201cI didn\u2019t want to try the product and you did it for me, and thank you.\u201d Manny emerged from the bathroom in a roil of steam, smelling like soap and shampoo. He was naked. Noelle\u2019s entire body clenched. \u201cMann\u2014 Rafael,\u201d she said, \u201cput your clothes on.\u201d He fell onto the bed and groaned into a pillow. \u201cIt\u2019s good,\u201d he said. \u201cToo good.\u201d She hurried to the open door and window, and she closed both. \u201cYou\u2019ve been clean for so long,\u201d she said, realizing this was hitting him harder than it hit the other guests.<\/p>\n

His body hadn\u2019t built up a tolerance. He was higher even than the naked girl dancing in the waves. He nodded into the pillow. \u201cIt\u2019s wild, Beck. Delva. Wiiiiiild.
