Saye rolled his eyes. \u201cI still think it unseemly. And low. And not at all noble.\u201d \u201cAh, who cares, really?\u201d Darcy said suddenly. \u201cFitzwilliam is a good and decent man, and if this is how he chooses to spend his time, so be it.<\/p>\n

Why plague him?\u201d Both brothers stopped and stared at him. \u201cThank you, Darcy,\u201d said Fitzwilliam finally. \u201cI think you are good and decent too.\u201d Darcy nodded and then, while their attention was fixed, said, \u201cHave either of you ever heard that to bed a virgin meant it was impossible to get her with child?\u201d Fitzwilliam snickered and turned back to his carriage, finding something that needed inspecting in the wheel. \u201cAre you looking for virgins? In this town, that might be difficult to find.\u201d \u201cYou may be thinking of syphilis,\u201d Saye offered with a smirk.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey say to bed a virgin cures syphilis.\u201d \u201cWould that it was syphilis, the solution would be far easier,\u201d Darcy muttered to himself. \u201cWould it?\u201d Saye peered at him closely.<\/p>\n
