You don\u2019t think I was just going to let that go, did you?\u201d All around me, bodies were thumping and crashing, hisses and snarls danced around with their threats, but my vision stayed black, my eyes too heavy to open and see the horror for myself. \u201cYou\u2019re wrong about her. The only person I knew who claimed to have magic was my Queen, and even then, I was skeptical. There was a groan. \u201cWhat\u2019s the matter, Nyx? Did our little umbragore friends tear you up too bad?\u201d Someone grabbed me by my hair, a whimper escaping my chest, as I felt my body get thrown over someone\u2019s shoulder. I was too weak to fight, going in and out of consciousness. \u201cPut on your cloaks,\u201d she hissed. \u201cThe forest thins out where we are headed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGive me back what is mine,\u201d Nyx demanded. A heinous chuckle echoed around the room as one of the males spoke. \u201cWhat does the Dark Prince want with her anyway? It\u2019s three against one. You won\u2019t be able to get her from us. Just leave, Nyx.\u201d \u201cI can\u2019t do that,\u201d he growled. Did he say dark prince? Ugh my head hurt so bad; I couldn\u2019t think straight. Maybe I was hallucinating all of this.<\/p>\n

My breathing was slowly becoming harder to do, each inhale more difficult than the last. Whoever was holding me shifted their body to the left, as if dodging something, and that was when I felt us slam into the wall. I groaned from the hit. \u201cAlerice!\u201d Nyx snapped. \u201cTake the prince out,\u201d Viktor hissed. \u201cWith pleasure, Viktor,\u201d she purred. It sounded as if two feral beasts were caught in a battle, their growls and snarls screaming through the air.<\/p>\n
