As Audrey thought about him, she bowed her head and prayed with a forgiving spirit, May God bring him into peace. By the time Audrey recovered, there had already been a mega funeral service for Skip at St. James Cathedral, Seattle, with Audrey’s parents in attendance as they celebrated the life of Skip Ramsey, their most unusual and talented son-in-law.

The Archbishop and Fr. James conducted the Funeral Mass. Fr. James shared about the depth of his friend and how he was responsible for bringing him to Christ. I am a priest today because of Skip Ramsey’s great love for Jesus Christ. He is the one that moved me from a non-religious person to one filled with faith and hope. I would have been a major league player making millions but losing my soul. Skip Ramsey changed all of that. As a gifted and talented shortstop player on our University of Washington team, he was almost perfect at picking up a ball hit in his area, catching or scooping it up and throwing out the person at first base.

And in business, he had an uncanny skill at picking winners and losers that made him worth billions. Yet his greatest skill came from the Holy Spirit who poured upon this great man so many gifts – the gift of faithfulness, humility, generosity and love. For a moment Fr.

James wiped tears from his eyes, and in a choking voice said, I owe to this great man my soul. I am certain that at his passing, God welcomed him into the academy of great Saints. Skip was buried in a simple tomb at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Edmonds, a town just northwest of Seattle on Puget Sound. After Skip’s burial, Fr. James went to the hospital to see Audrey and tell her of the great proceedings. Audrey greeted him with a big smile.

Her beautiful blue eyes finally were getting back their spark and joy. Fr. James loved to look into those Irish eyes that were so unusually bright and clear. She spoke with a sense of sadness in her voice, as she looked out the window, grasping for words.

I wish I could have been there and told everyone what a great man of God Skip was. There will never be a man like Skip Ramsey. He is my spiritual father and devoted husband. And I am certain that God has welcomed him into his glorious presence. Skip, my dear husband, pray for me and for us to the Lord our God. Amen. Fr. James chimed in, “Amen.” He reached out to grab her hand, squeezed it and gave her another kiss on her cheek.

David (sex with Bathsheba) Solomon (all the women who led him astray) Peter (his failures and public correction by Paul) And so many others Revealing their weaknesses Their areas of vulnerability? 5 WHY? God loves to show that no matter what happens in our lives His GRACE is more powerful than the sum total of all our sins and weaknesses.

And that is the story of The Priest and his Woman. Incredible Grace filled! POWERFUL! 6 Reading this book will be different. I write in a visual way, spacing, capitalizing, making sure you not only read but SEE what I am writing about. It is a different approach to formatting a book. I hope you feel at home with it and it moves you emotionally, intellectually and VISUALLY as you read A Priest and his Woman. 7 © Copyright 2023 by Dr. Paul Joseph Young No part of this book can be reproduced in any form apart from the consent of the author.

Short parts may be used in a review. ——————————— Though this book is a work of fiction…. there are many things about the book that are founded on what are: TRUE. Surprising things. Many are unknown to most people. You will love this mixture of fiction and fact. She was that good! Audrey pushed back her long red hair as a gust of wind blew it in her face. She hardly noticed the breeze or the bright sun as it graced her soft skin. Her focus and interest was a player on the U of W baseball team, James Barrington, the star pitcher. 11 He could throw a fastball so fast that opposing teams shook their heads in disbelief.

And to Audrey, James was also good looking! James Richard Barrington was born in 2003 at Whidbey Island Hospital in Coupeville, Washington on Whidbey Island, an iconic island of water, trees, and beautiful valleys. Although Whidbey Island is only 30 miles from Seattle, it feels much farther away. This picturesque island in Puget Sound is sometimes called the West Coast Martha’s Vineyard.

This is a short excerpt from the opening of “” by Unknown, quoted for review and introduction purposes.
