Game on. 1kitap1.com\/en I\u2019m belting out the lyrics to my favorite Bon Jovi song as we head toward Sommer\u2019s house. I can practically feel my oldest brother\u2019s brain exploding, which is why I\u2019m extra annoying on the short car ride tonight. My bestie sits beside me, understanding my need to be extra, so she starts singing backup and playing the drums on the back of Collin\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n

\u201cDammit, Sommer, I\u2019m trying to drive,\u201d Collin grumbles just loud enough to be heard over the music. \u201cI\u2019ve already got the drums covered, oh grumpy one. I\u2019d say play the air guitar, but technically, you should keep your hands on the wheel, so we\u2019ll leave that to Q. You can be the keyboardist.\u201d I want to laugh, watching as the proverbial steam bellows from his ears.<\/p>\n

\u201cGood thinking,\u201d I tell my best friend as the song starts to wind down. \u201cWe want Collin to get us there safely, so air guitar is out. Sorry, C. You\u2019ll have to settle for the keyboard.\u201d He grumbles something I can\u2019t make out, which does make me grin. I look straight ahead and catch Quinn\u2019s smile. He\u2019s looking out the window, his dark eyes unreadable in the reflection in the glass, but the grin tells me a lot.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s enjoying the way we all pick on each other as only siblings can do, and for a moment, I feel bad for him. He\u2019d never experienced this kind of relationship until he found it with Camden. It\u2019s not a blood bond, but it\u2019s just as deep as if it were. \u201cGet out,\u201d Collin states, turning down the music as he pulls into Sommer\u2019s driveway. \u201cThank you, Uber driver. You\u2019ve been most kind. I\u2019ll add a tip online.\u201d<\/p>\n

Collin rolls his eyes. \u201cBye, bestie!\u201d I proclaim, moving over as much as I can to give her a hug, considering I\u2019m belted in. \u201cLove you,\u201d she replies, squeezing me equally as tight. Then, she adds with a whisper, \u201cHe\u2019s giving off that Big D Energy again. You better take that stallion for a ride around the pen.\u201d \u201cLet\u2019s go, let\u2019s go. We don\u2019t have all night. I gotta get back to Lizzie,\u201d Collin harps, though there\u2019s no bite to his bark. \u201cOh, he\u2019s giving off that Big D Energy too, compounded with that broody vibe.<\/p>\n

I bet Lizzie gets railed against the bedroom wall tonight,\u201d Sommer states, loud enough for Jesus and the neighbors to hear too. \u201cWhat the hell, Sommer,\u201d Collin grumbles. \u201cDon\u2019t be shy, Collin. If you got it, flaunt it like Quinn.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been bent over this tillage attachment on a chisel plow for the better part of an hour, welding new tines into place to replace the broken ones. It\u2019s a tedious job, but one I love, even if the hours are long. Planting season is right around the corner, which means I\u2019m busier than an ant at a picnic. Now is the time farmers are checking over their equipment and making necessary fixes. Of course, that doesn\u2019t mean shit won\u2019t hit the fan in the middle of planting or harvest.<\/p>\n

As much as you prepare, things still break. That\u2019s why spring and fall are as hectic as they are for me. I\u2019m the only mobile welder in the area, so my phone rings nonstop. Ever since I was a young boy, I knew I wanted to find a job where I could use my hands. I\u2019ve always loved building things\u2014building blocks, Lego, whatever I could get my hands on\u2014so when I enrolled in the welding program through the local career center in high school, I knew I had found my calling.<\/p>\n

I soaked up everything I could on the trade and took every course offered. By the time I was done, I was certified at high school graduation and joining the workforce at the age of eighteen. I started at a local factory, welding lockers and other metalworks, but I had a hard time adjusting to second and third shifts.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
