My mind started to feel foggy and strange. Ba’gree shifted enough to tip my head back to look at me, his brow dropping in concern. I tried to wave off his concerns but he grabbed my hand in his big warmer one. \u200b\u201cMia what wrong?\u201d His eyes searched my face. \u201cJ\u2026<\/p>\n

j\u2026 just cold.\u201d I said through chattering teeth. Quickly we were in motion. Ba’gree had us out of that small space in only a few seconds and he set me down near my abandoned pack. I curled up, pulling my knees to my chest as Ba’gree popped his large head out of the hole. He came back, picked me up and helped me climb out. The cool morning air that blew over me didn’t help my shivers but I kept my mouth shut. I watched Ba’gree climb out the small hole looking like a beastly slender man again.<\/p>\n

I had to close my eyes against the imagery; it made me feel creeped out. I preferred seeing him in his thick normal form. This one was just a walking Creepypasta, freaky. My eyes felt heavy and I tried to force them open to watch Ba’gree run around the area, checking to make sure everything was clear, at least that’s what my fading rational mind thought.<\/p>\n

As my rational side started to fade away drunk Mia took over making no real sense. Huh, maybe he needs to pee. My eyelids lowered. I just need a minute to rest them. \u201cNo. No sleep Mia mine.\u201d Ba’gree’s thick words were close to my ear a second later as I was scooped up. \u201cStop bossing me around and man handling me.\u201d I said weakly, slurring my words.<\/p>\n

He shook me gently. \u201cBa’gree stop boss you when you start listening.\u201d He growled back making me give a weak laugh. \u201cHey, hey, why do you talk broken and in third person?\u201d I was too far gone to see the hurt that flashed in his eyes. \u201cAll Carnix used to speak like Ba’gree. They change. Ba’gree have trouble changing.\u201d He shook his head.<\/p>\n

\u201cAww, I’m sorry big guy.\u201d I said between my teeth. \u201cI’m such a poop.\u201d I said, my eyes burning with new tears. \u201cWhy did you even come after me? I bring nothing but trouble.\u201d I sniffled as tears fell down my cold cheeks. \u201cYou Ba’gree’s Mia. Always come for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dodging between large twisting trees in the near blackness of night, I pushed and flailed my way through gnarled grasping underbrush without a thought to the ripping sounds that reached my ears.<\/p>\n

Clawed wooden tree branches grabbed my clothes and pulled at my long black and purple hair. I was too afraid to worry about the stinging bite of sharp edges that scored any exposed skin. I prayed to anyone who would listen that I would not get impaled on some wayward hidden debris, or branch and heavens please DO NOT let me run face first into one of those damn monsters that suddenly started to appear everywhere.<\/p>\n

My favorite white and purple kicks flew across the black uneven ground that threatened to trip me up. My thick thighs burned, my back ached, and my damn backpack slapped and shifted with my every sudden move. The heavy, unbalanced, overstuffed backpack threatened to pull me off balance if I wasn’t careful. Why the hell did I pack so damn much shit?! Cause my best friend Alex always finds new and inventive ways to get us all into deep shit! \u201cThis is bonkers!\u201d I screamed, dodging another large werewolf creature that suddenly materialized from the darkness.<\/p>\n
