Well, I think we have a complicated relationship. I clearly like him, and I think he likes me, and heaven knows I\u2019ve stalked him quite a lot. By that, I mean I\u2019ve watched many, many episodes of Hidden Architecture. It\u2019s a good show, and also a great way to hear his voice and look at his face. I still keep thinking about the way we almost-kissed. And the way we broke through the gates, which feels as if it should be awfully symbolic \u2013 but maybe I\u2019m overthinking.<\/p>\n

Maybe he doesn\u2019t \u201clike\u201d me as such, and almost-kissing me really was a mistake? Like I say, it\u2019s complicated and it\u2019s scrambling my brain thinking about it, so I decide to do something else. I decide to do some more research on Lady Clementine. I decide to do this after watching Marcus on TV, after he\u2019d helped a family find the outline of a bathing pool in their mahoosive garden \u2013 much, much further south than we are, so it was clearly warmer down there \u2013 and he also helped them find old plans which showed it was actually fed by the sea, so it was tidal, and they restored it and everything.<\/p>\n

There were some final shots of their three blonde moppet children splashing around in it, and it made me think of Lady Clemmie, and how she\u2019d had three children in three years. There was a much more sensible gap between the moppet children than a year between each of them, but I\u2019m sure it was still like herding kittens. Isa and Maggie are enough for me, and only in small doses \u2013 but I guess if they\u2019re your own children, it\u2019s easier than if they\u2019re someone else\u2019s.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know. What I do know is there is probably quite a bit I can find out online, anyway, so I pull my laptop over, pour a glass of wine, and keep Marcus on in the background on catch-up. It\u2019s crazy, but hearing his voice makes me feel happy, almost as if he\u2019s in the room with me. I suspect he doesn\u2019t feel that way about me, but I\u2019m allowed to have a little crush on a celebrity, aren\u2019t I?<\/p>\n

Alfie is Fae\u2019s boyfriend.
