Her sister\u2019s mood seemed to instantly brighten, and she was relieved. It wasn\u2019t the first time her sister had slumped into a state of depression, moping around for days, then begged her to go to some rowdy party where she could get drunk and stoned in an attempt to forget about whatever dug at her subconscious.<\/p>\n

It was a recurring cycle. Harper reached over from the driver\u2019s seat and squeezed Jillian\u2019s hand. \u201cThank you for coming with me.\u201d \u201cI just want you to be happy again.\u201d Harper lifted her free hand, then jiggled the car keys so they clinked together. \u201cWell, come on. They have staff available to park the cars.\u201d \u201cOkay. Okay.\u201d She watched as her elder sister leapt from the car and practically sprinted to the passenger-side door to open it for her.<\/p>\n

By the time she freed herself from her own seatbelt to join her, Harper was twirling in excited circles, causing the skirt of her short chiffon dress to flare out in a fluttering blur. A smile spread on Jillian\u2019s face as Harper reached out for her and grabbed her hands, then spun again.<\/p>\n

As the pair came around full circle, her sister dropped her hands and exclaimed, \u201cWhat are we waiting for?\u201d Jillian giggled. \u201cThe attendant, I think. There are two cars ahead of us.\u201d Harper rolled her eyes and then gave her head an exaggerated shake. \u201cNonsense.\u201d She dropped her arms to her sides, then strode up to the attendant, who had just taken a set of keys from a man who stood next to the car at the front of the line.<\/p>\n

Jillian saw her slip her own keys into his jacket pocket as she leaned into the attendant\u2019s ear. Before he even had a chance to react to whatever she said, she spun on her heels and skipped her way back to where Jillian waited. \u201cLet\u2019s go.\u201d Embarrassed, Jillian\u2019s hand went to her face, and she shook her head. \u201cI don\u2019t even want to know what you said to him.\u201d Harper grinned slyly then winked at her.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re probably right.\u201d Jillian\u2019s eyes widened, and she dropped her hand to her side. \u201cGood, don\u2019t tell me!\u201d \u201cI won\u2019t if you hurry up.\u201d Harper spun in another circle then skipped over to the stairs. \u201cSilly Jilly, are you coming?\u201d<\/p>\n
