Darlene, unable to stop in time, slammed straight into Melanie\u2019s side and sent her sprawling. Keith Nielsen, who was standing behind the fake fern, thought fast and reached out and grabbed Melanie faster than lightning, saving her and Joey from slamming onto the tile floor.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bDarlene didn\u2019t stop; she just glared at Melanie and ran up the escalator to CD World. \u200b\u201cOh my God,\u201d Mike said, reaching down to help Melanie up. \u201cI\u2019m so sorry.\u201d \u200b\u201cWhat the hell is her problem?\u201d Keith bellowed at Mike. \u200b\u201cShe just gets a little . . . hyper.\u201d Mike shrugged. \u200b\u201cHey! What\u2019s your problem? Kirsty snapped at Melanie in her privileged, preppy tone. \u200b\u201cKirsty!\u201d Bobby snapped back at her.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bKirsty gave him a foul look and said, \u201cThere\u2019s no harm done! You guys can be such losers,\u201d then ran after Darlene up the escalator. \u200bMike shrugged. Bobby stood behind his friend and looked awkward. \u200b\u201cReal nice girlfriends you guys have got there,\u201d Keith barked at Mike and Bobby. \u200b\u201cThey are not our\u2014\u201d Mike started to say, but Melanie cut him off.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u201cNo harm done. It\u2019s okay.\u201d She held onto Keith with one arm and cradled Joey\u2019s small head in the other hand. \u200b\u201cSorry.\u201d Mike shrugged and backed up. Bobby followed him as they walked to the escalators. \u200b\u201cAre we just going to let them go?\u201d Keith snarled. \u200bMelanie gripped him tighter, looked deeply into Keith\u2019s eyes, and asked, \u201cAre you telling me you were never young?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s just kids being kids.\u201d \u200b\u201cIt\u2019s kids being disrespectful,\u201d Keith replied with a frown. \u200b\u201cIt\u2019s over,\u201d Melanie said calmly. \u201cLet\u2019s go have a nice time.\u201d \u200bKeith sighed. \u201cYou\u2019re too easygoing.\u201d \u200b\u201cThat\u2019s why you love me.\u201d Melanie grinned at him. \u200bHe kissed Melanie, then gave Joey a kiss on his soft head. \u200b\u201cCome on,\u201d Keith said, \u201clet\u2019s go buy some of those overpriced rocks you want so bad.\u201d \u200b\u201cHey!\u201d Melanie said playfully.<\/p>\n<p>Mike and Bobby stood close to one another as they went up the escalator. \u200b\u201cThat was major embarrassing,\u201d Bobby said sharply to Mike. \u201cI\u2019m getting a little tired of these two.\u201d \u200b\u201cYou\u2019re telling me,\u201d Mike agreed. \u201cThat was a major lawsuit waiting to happen. Do you know how much my father likes babies? Big- time.
