Are we in agreement?\u201d Elara, Amber, and Nyn nodded, Nyn still reading the book. \u201cWe have a lot of things to prepare for,\u201d Asher began. \u201cThe farmhouse is getting crowded, and if we have more guests, we won\u2019t have many rooms to house them. That is why, a new guest farmhouse will help us greatly in the future. \u201cWe also need to prepare the barn, and winery for Dina\u2019s return. She is going to bring back a wagon load of strawberries.<\/p>\n

Enough to brew our first batch of wine. \u201cIn the coming week, we will need to purchase sugar, yeast, and a few more ingredients for the first batch. It will give us some experience before we harvest the grapes in the fall.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to more wine, and cooler weather,\u201d Elara said with dreamy green eyes.<\/p>\n

Asher looked at Amber, the faun still by the floating frost crystal. \u201cHow are we with potions?\u201d \u201cOur stores are nearly full. I could use some help with the remainder,\u201d the faun said over her shoulder, not moving away from the crystal. \u201cI\u2019ll help you with that, after putting the ring stands and frost crystals in place,\u201d Asher said as he mentally planned out his day. \u201cWith a cooler home, perhaps we can continue with our play?\u201d Elara asked with a wicked gleam in her eyes.<\/p>\n

Asher approached the beautiful elf with a loving gaze. \u201cI must tend to Megeth, Lynette, and Tianna, tonight. But after that, I don\u2019t see why we can\u2019t continue with our monastery play.\u201d Elara put her arms on Asher\u2019s shoulders as he put his hands on her hips. The couple stared at each other with loving eyes. Nyn glanced up to see her best friend hug their lover. She kept her cool gaze on them as they briefly brushed lips against each other before fully kissing.<\/p>\n

Hands held each other close, as if they would be pulled apart if they let go.<\/p>\n

The door creaked open. A small breeze whipped through the open doorway, sending up dust into the stale air. A shadow of a man stood at the entrance, a gloom filling the countryside behind him. Asher Blackwood stood at the entrance to the rundown home with steady eyes. His ears drank in the still silence, listening to see if anything stirred from within the home.<\/p>\n

His gaze moved slowly from left to right, noticing the white sheets covering much of the furniture. In his right hand was a dagger. In his left hand was a note he had read a hundred times. Lifting a weathered boot, he stepped into the home. Asher walked slowly, feeling the silence press down on him. He measured every step and moved like a silent viper in the dark. A bow was slung over his shoulder, and a short sword hung from his belt. A brown leather jacket covered his upper body.<\/p>\n

His leather armor underneath was a dulled brown, with faded markings. His clothes were also a dim green. He reached the center of the living room. When he didn\u2019t sense any creatures or animals living in the home, his shoulders relaxed and he let out a tired sigh. Lifting his left hand up, he looked at the letter again. Dearest Nephew, If you are reading this, then my time on Valoria has come to an end. I hope my end was a swift one.<\/p>\n

As you may know, your father and I disagreed on the adventurer life. Don\u2019t misunderstand, your father was one of the best rangers in the world, but even he couldn\u2019t outrun fate. I never felt you should have followed in his footsteps, but that was something between the two of you. You discover a lot about your life when you grow older. I wrote this letter when I decided to close the Blackwood Farm.<\/p>\n

I have many wonderful memories in this place. It\u2019s special in many ways. That is why I am leaving it to you. I hope it tempts you to leave the adventurer life and settle down for a time. I will be taking a long vacation across Valoria. I want to see distant lands and drink my days and nights away. Your inheritance is the farm, and surrounding lands. Mist Valley is a wondrous place, filled with magic and mystery.<\/p>\n

It should keep you very entertained if you settle down there. The town of Star Fall is filled with interesting townsfolk. With time, they will accept you as one of them. You may be questioning what I exactly farmed at Blackwood. It\u2019s a secret, one you will discover as you explore the farm. But I can tell you, I didn\u2019t choose this location by chance.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
