“I’m making a movie,” Marc explained. “It’s kind of like reality TV,” Marc told me. “You know: ‘What is it really like to go to Joyce Kilmer Middle School?'” “Who’d watch that?” Chloe asked him. “School’s boring.” “Not necessarily,” Marc said. “You just have to know what to look for.” “Marc, turn off the camera, okay?” Liza asked him in her soft voice. I smiled gratefully at Liza. It seemed like we had a lot in common – besides the blushing. “Yeah, Jenny doesn’t look like she’s in the mood to be interviewed by you, Mr. Spielberg,” Chloe teased him.<\/p>\n

“Hey, don’t make fun of Steven Spielberg,” Marc warned. “I wasn’t,” Chloe assured him. “I was making fun of you. And I was protecting Jenny.” She turned to me and studied my face. “You don’t look so good. Are you okay?” No. I wasn’t okay. Not by a long shot. My feet hurt from {44 walking up and down stairs all day in my new boots, and my head was hot from being under a hat.<\/p>\n

But I didn’t say that. I didn’t say anything at all. “Oh, that was real nice of you, Chloe,” Marc said, shak- ing his head. Chloe frowned. u l didn’t mean you don’t look nice or anything, Jenny,” she apologized. “I just meant your face was a little gray.” “Not much better, Chloe,” Marc said, coming to my defense. “Well, I’m just worried,” Chloe continued.<\/p>\n

“She looked a lot better at lunch than she does now and -” “Chloe,” Marc interrupted her. “Quit while you’re behind, will you?” I had to laugh at that one.<\/p>\n
