After playing at the dunk tank, Coco\u2019s mom helps her check her blood sugar. Then they decide what Coco will eat at the party. Coco and Minnie each have birthday cake and ice cream. Your body needs insulin in order to use the food that you eat for energy. You need energy to do all sorts of things, such as reading, running, and playing. Coco takes her insulin every day to help her body use the food that she eats.<\/p>\n

Pa What kinds of foods can Coco eat with type 1 diabetes? It’s important for everyone to eat foods that are good for them. Coco likes eating foods that help her stay healthy, such as fruits and vegetables. She also likes eating treats, such as cake and ice cream, on special occasions.<\/p>\n

But certain foods are not as healthy as others and can make your blood sugar higher. It\u2019s best to plan ahead and only eat those foods sometimes. Bananas are Coco’s favorite food. What is your favorite food?<\/p>\n
