I did promise pizza.\u2019 \u2018Okay, we\u2019ll be there, seeing how Sammy hasn\u2019t got skating that night.\u2019 April blew out a laugh. \u2018Oh, is that your only reason for agreeing?\u2019 Declan shrugged as he suppressed a smile. \u2018It\u2019s the only one I\u2019ll admit to.\u2019 April leaned into him. \u2018I\u2019ve missed this, Dec.<\/p>\n

Hanging out with you.\u2019 \u2018Ah, you\u2019ve been hanging out with people all over the world.\u2019 \u2018Yeah, but they weren\u2019t you.\u2019 He met her eyes and held her stare for what seemed like a long moment. Was she trying to tell him something? He couldn\u2019t be sure, and it wasn\u2019t the time to delve, as Sammy wanted more coins for the machine. April yawned, then bent to rub her knee. \u2018You okay, love?\u2019 Declan immediately chastised himself for calling her love, but she didn\u2019t seem to notice.<\/p>\n

\u2018Just feeling the cold.\u2019 She glanced up. \u2018I know it\u2019s been a good few months since my operation, but my knee aches every so often.\u2019 He thumbed behind him. \u2018You want a piggyback?\u2019 April laughed, giving him a playful shove. \u2018I do,\u2019 said Sammy. He swung his niece onto his back and motioned to the drinks hut.<\/p>\n

\u2018Hot choccy, anyone?\u2019 \u2018Yay!\u2019 cried Sammy. He glanced at April. \u2018We can drink it in the truck on our way home. What do you say?\u2019 She smiled. \u2018Perfect.\u2019 And just seeing her beam his way made everything about his life feel perfect with her once more, which was concerning, as the last time he felt settled in life with her was back when they were a couple.<\/p>\n

Little did he know then she would walk out on him, and if he carried on the way he was now, she could hurt him all over again. If only his stupid heart got the memo. 1kitap1.com\/en April Ava Hart\u2019s hen party was taking place at Honeydale Carriages, and the blushing bride-to-be was happily mingling with her guests, sipping the champagne her sister had brought, and politely listening to others talk of their wedding day.<\/p>\n

April also listened to the stories, knowing she could have married Declan years ago. Seeing so much joy around her as she served slices of chocolate fudge cake made her feel she had missed out on so much from her hometown. Stepping out onto the makeshift platform in front of the carriages, April took a steady breath. She had loved her life, travelling, dancing, hanging out with the rich and famous.<\/p>\n

She shouldn\u2019t have regrets, and she had been perfectly fine when away.<\/p>\n

Travelling with her dance troupe since she was twenty-one had taken her all around the world, and most of the tours she\u2019d been on had been in warmer climates. She glanced at her knee, hating the internal damage that had ended her career at just twenty-six. The operation had gone well, but being told she\u2019d never be able to dance professionally again had destroyed her spirit. Dancing with popstars had been her life for so long, and now she was back home, feeling a failure. April deeply inhaled the fresh morning, turning on the platform to stare up at the ornamental cast-iron supports holding the structure of the forest- green hut, which was the exit and entrance for passengers.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t the way she was going. A quaint brown-stone cottage close by was her home, so she grabbed the handle of her suitcase and made her way towards Stationmaster\u2019s Cottage, hoping her mum was back from the shops, because she didn\u2019t have a door key. April had called her mum whilst on the train and was assured a hot cuppa would be waiting.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
