My whole family was crafty and everyone did something, from macramé to embroidery. Sadly, as a child I did not appreciate the skills I learned and they were quickly forgotten. My beloved mum’s passing reignited the desire to crochet and knit again, it was a way of evoking those fond memories. From then on, an obsession was born! I devoured every book available and immersed myself in the designs, colours, yarns and ideas.

My introduction to crochet socks started purely with curiosity. I had been knitting socks for a while, but always thought, why not crochet socks? After experimenting and trying a few patterns a new addiction began! Crochet socks are amazing! And those who have been following me on social media will know that I cannot stop shouting about them. With so many stunning sock yarn choices on the market, why should the knitters have all the fun? I view socks as a very special make to gift to a loved one.

I try to make at least one pair of socks to give to someone special at Christmas. They are a joy to make and I always think – warm feet, warm heart. This book has really been a dream come true, as I have poured all my love for crochet socks into every page – I have tried to include as much information as I possibly can and I would love everyone to discover the joy of crochet socks.

I hope you enjoy experimenting and making the socks in this book and that your feet will always be adorned in handmade socks.

This is a short excerpt from the opening of “” by Unknown, quoted for review and introduction purposes.
