If she could marry any accent in the world, it would be that one.<\/p>\n

They were heading towards a remote warehouse in Tilbury Docks. The report that Brendan had run into which manufacturers created the plastic bottles used for Henry Matheson\u2019s drugs had come up with a positive result. It had once been established as a business on Companies House back in 2000 before being struck off the register. Later, the name of the business had changed to Handy Man Scrap Services.<\/p>\n

And, no surprise to anyone, the owner of the business was one Henry Matheson. \u2018How far away are we?\u2019 Ashley asked. \u2018Ten minutes. Fifteen tops.\u2019 Brendan drummed away to a silent beat on the steering wheel. Long enough. Ashley pulled out her phone and opened her emails.<\/p>\n

Something inside her told her she needed to keep going, to keep the investigation on its toes, at the front of her mind. Like the workhorse she was, she was dedicated to the job.<\/p>\n

And how much that would weaken his standing. Lewis looked down at his sweaty hands and felt them fight for purchase on the handlebars of his BMX. He wiped them clean on his hoodie, then checked his phone. The latest message in his chats told him it was time to move. Grabbing the bars and placing one foot on the pedal, he started along the streets towards the estate. Towards the meeting place. It was dark \u2013 the clock had just rolled into the early hours of the morning \u2013 and he used the street lamps overhead as his only source of illumination.<\/p>\n

Although it was unnecessary, as from the age of five, as soon as he was allowed out unsupervised, he\u2019d mastered the routes in and around the Cosgrove Estate. The potholes. The dips in the ground.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
