I&#8217;d told the girl at the counter they were for my nephew, but she didn&#8217;t care enough to look at me. She tied them with curling ribbon and smiled like it was just a transaction, which I suppose it was.<\/p>\n<p>The bundle leaned against the far wall now, sagging already, embarrassed to be here.
