Then, you keep on going. What do you do if the partner doesn’t work the way you want? That is okay, find a new partner and experiment. Key to ensuring the partner is working for you is to evaluate the output. You dig into the output and ensure it is giving you what you want to solve the problem. Now, one thing to be aware of is that the partner may not give you the exact solution you were looking for, but have an open mind that the result you were given could be utilized in a different way.

Or, you could be provided with different ideas, which could spark further creativity. If your problem, pain, or need has a solution then you can implement it. Then, you can learn, pivot, and iterate. It is key to execute what you are looking to do. Why would you use data and/or AI as a partner if you weren’t going to execute on the results? As you do, keep an open mind about the changing technology.

As you continue to follow these steps, you can develop your data and AI confidence. One thing that wasn’t listed in those steps is studying and learning. The knowledge we gain will help us to be more intelligent with data and AI, finding new ways to be creative and new ways to understand how to utilize the tools and technologies that now sit at our fingertips.

We can utilize the power of our knowledge to grow and then apply to data and AI. You may ask: “What learning matters?” Here, I think it is important to note that we aren’t only talking about data and AI knowledge, but general knowledge overall. For example, it may be that you study the philosophy of Taoism or how ancient people thought and worked.

You then use that information to think and understand how to apply things in the data and AI work you are taking on. You may find useful information and ways to improve your knowledge that then get applied to the work you are doing. Utilize the Three Cs and Three Is Now, let’s discuss the three Cs and three Is of data and AI literacy. I devised the three Cs of data literacy a long time ago and they still matter today.

We can now modify it to be the three Cs of data and AI literacy. Those three Cs are curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, as introduced in Chapter 3. Now, how does this help with hype and buzz? Let’s take a look. When we are curious, we push conventional thinking, we ask questions.

“Jordan Morrow, the godfather of data literacy, did it again! With Data and AI Skills he tackles one of the most burning questions of our time: What is the role of human beings in an age of AI-driven hyper- automation and -acceleration? Morrow’s answer is the elegantly simple yet powerful formula: Data + AI + IQ + EQ = Engineered Intelligence, and it works perfectly.

This is a book everyone who works with data and AI needs to read. And let’s be honest—that’s probably all of us.” Tiankai Feng, author of Humanizing AI Strategy “Leaders need to understand that in order to get accurate data they need to empower their people to understand why they are creating data all day, every day. Jordan Morrow understands this and writes passionately about the subject in ways that non-technical folks can understand. With data in the modern world comes the inevitability of AI.

AI isn’t going to cure the world’s ills overnight, but it isn’t going away either, so we need to learn how to best utilize the power of AI for good. If you want to talk about data and AI, talk to Jordan Morrow.” Steve Taylor, Strategic Data Lead, National Fire Chiefs Council, UK “While most data and AI books focus on tools, models, and technical capability, this book boldly puts people at the centre.

It’s about rewiring how we think, how we learn, and how we work. Jordan Morrow keeps you engaged and curious throughout, showing how personalization and human-centric design help individuals and organizations meet people where they are, build genuine confidence, make better decisions, strengthen collaboration, and solve real-world problems—without the burnout.” Rosanne Werner, CEO, XcelerateIQ “It’s not often you encounter someone with Jordan Morrow’s depth of technical expertise and global reputation who is equally committed to bringing others along on the journey.

He has that rare gift of translating the most abstract data and AI concepts into clear, relatable, and thought-provoking actions—and he brings the same clarity to his writing: direct, jargon-free, and grounded in real-world experience.” Simone Pozniak, Head: Data and Analytics, Webber Wentzel “Jordan Morrow’s Data and AI Skills cuts through the hype and delivers concrete guidance for professionals who need to understand and leverage AI responsibly. It’s a practical reference for building both the skills and the judgment to make AI work in real-world contexts.”

Cecilia Dones, Founder and Chief Data Officer, 3 Standard Deviations OceanofPDF.com Data and AI Skills Gain the Confidence You Need to Succeed Jordan Morrow OceanofPDF.com This book is dedicated to my wife, Cari Lyn, and my five kids.

This is a short excerpt from the opening of “” by Unknown, quoted for review and introduction purposes.
