Once the cartels took over, he\u2019d made overtures and his protection had been well received. Under Miguel Garcia\u2019s control, the Los Lobos Cartel had come up from Durango, Mexico, first appearing in the US in Texas border towns. When Miguel had turned over leadership to his son Roberto, who\u2019d wanted to develop Los Angeles as his heroin distribution center, it was Ripton and the dirty cops who did his bidding, who provided police protection for the powerful Mexican cartel.<\/p>\n

Once again, he stared at the picture Crowley had left behind on his desk. Kai Thundercloud had become a liability. If he was somehow able to reconnect with Crowley, there was a good chance that his own connection with the cartel would be exposed. He has to die. He sighed, knowing he\u2019d have to take care of this himself. It was too risky to trust one of his cohorts to take care of Kai; it would be too easy to be blackmailed by one of the men he associated with if it were known he was the one who killed Kai.<\/p>\n

He would have to get his own hands dirty and make absolutely sure that no one knew he was the one who ended Thundercloud\u2019s worthless life.<\/p>\n
