I\u2019m here to tell you that not only can you keep your flowers, but they can also look beautiful, vivid and colourful for years. Welcome to the wonderful new world of dried flowers. I\u2019ve been working with dried and preserved flowers for over five years now. My original plan had been to open my own fresh floristry wedding design studio, and I even trained with fresh florals before I came across what I describe as modern dried flowers.<\/p>\n

I was instantly hooked. I\u2019m completely biased as I spend my days surrounded by dried flowers, but I honestly cannot understand why anyone would want fresh florals now. Back in the day, dried flowers were exactly that \u2013 dried-up flowers. They were left to dry, and they turned brittle, brown and lifeless.<\/p>\n

While they had a moment of trending in the 1970s, they never really offered anything different or special. Since then, there have been many advancements in the dried flower world. Twenty-first century dried flowers are no longer dull; there are now hundreds of varieties of dried, painted and dyed flowers \u2013and most recently there has been a boom in the preserved floral arena.<\/p>\n

In this book, I will introduce you to a world of dried and preserved flowers in a stunning array of colours, from beautiful pale tones all the way through the colour wheel to bright and bold shades. For me, preserved florals are the big game changer. Some flowers have small, delicate stems, while other flower heads are larger and more impactful, but all have huge amounts of texture.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
