How did you and Max end up in Brookford?\u2019 I blink, thrown. \u2018Erm\u2026 Brookford.\u2019 I rub my forehead. \u2018Max had a fling at work.\u2019 She frowns. \u2018A fling?\u2019 \u2018An affair.\u2019 \u2018How did you find out?\u2019 \u2018I found a note in his office.<\/p>\n

Actually, Holly found it. It was stuck under his laptop. I walked in looking for her because Holly was never allowed in his office. I don\u2019t even know what she was doing there. She showed it to me. It said, \u201cI think I love you,\u201d with a set of lips in red lipstick.<\/p>\n

Did you know people still did that? Imprint their lips like that? It\u2019s awfully clich\u00e9, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n
