I didn\u2019t need the ward for my own safety, as even though I could feel the heat, it wouldn\u2019t burn my skin or my clothes.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d tested it out, and there seemed to be a small aura surrounding us both that nullified the harmful effects of our spells. But our practice sessions were exactly for this sort of thing, and I would have lost the game if I had just let it wash over me.
