A moment later, the door opened and an older man walked out. He stopped at the bottom of the stone steps leading up into the house. \u201cHello, Mother, Father, I am home.\u201d Somehow, even though he was happy to be there, those words felt kind of hollow without his Demonas Amat\u00e9 at his side.<\/p>\n

OceanofPDF.com Chapter Seven Jack watched from the balcony as the warriors returned to the compound. He searched through them, looking for one specific brown- haired warrior. When he didn\u2019t spot Clagh, his heart climbed into his throat, making it hard to swallow. He hurried down to the ground floor. He had to find out what happened to Clagh.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t quite understand the urgency racing through him. He just knew he couldn\u2019t draw in a breath until he was certain if the Djini was safe. Jack reached the bottom of the stairs as the large wooden double doors opened and several warriors walked inside. They were all walking upright, but it was clear they had been in a battle.<\/p>\n

Jack just hoped not all of the blood covering them was theirs. He carefully searched all of their faces again, just to be sure. Clagh wasn\u2019t there. \u201cWhere\u2019s Clagh?\u201d \u201cHe stayed behind, Demonas Amat\u00e9,\u201d one of the warriors stated. \u201cI believe he wished to check on his family.\u201d Huh. For some odd reason, Jack had assumed the Djini didn\u2019t have any close family even though Clagh had talked about his family\u2019s winery.<\/p>\n

That just showed him he knew less about the demon than he thought he did. He swallowed tightly before asking, \u201cIs he okay?\u201d He couldn\u2019t stand the fact that he hadn\u2019t been there to watch Clagh\u2019s back. He realized the man had been fighting for ages, but that somehow didn\u2019t make him feel better. \u201cI do not believe his injuries were life-threatening, Demonas Amat\u00e9.\u201d \u201cHe was injured?\u201d Jack shivered as his blood ran cold.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow badly was he injured?\u201d \u201cHe will heal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Detective Jackson Aniston was pulled into a world he never knew existed kicking and screaming. Demons were real, and one of them swore they were mates.
