Looking at the history, principles and processes behind using stitch as a form of mindfulness, she will refer to the incredible autobiographical jacket created by psychiatric patient Agnes Richter in 1895. At the end of the session, Helen will launch her new collaborative project. The charities will also both receive \u00a31 from the sale of every project kit, and half each from the auction of the tailored coats.<\/p>\n<p>PGCE and became head of a school art department within secondary education, followed by running workshops and setting up Untangled Threads. Untangled Threads, she notes, is about \u2018fostering curiosity: showing people where to look, but not what to see. It is about empowering self-discovery.\u2019 As an artist, her work looks at connections, memory and shared emotional intelligence, using fabric, print, poetry and prose, and materials which have \u2018passed through generations, retaining physical and emotional traces of previous contacts\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Helen is also fascinated by evolution and heredity: that chance mutation, a repetition, another layer formed. Helen believes that stitching and creating as part of a group is the \u2018very essence \u0142\u0139\u0003\u0136\u0142\u0140\u0140\u0148\u0141\u013c\u0147\u014c\u044f\u043f\u0003\u0142\u056e\u0138\u0145\u013c\u0141\u013a\u0003\u013c\u0141\u0137\u013c\u0149\u013c\u0137\u0148\u0134\u013f\u0146\u0003\u0134\u0003 chance to look inwards, while at the same time allowing everyone to be valued and respected as an essential part of the whole.
